Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 58

If they attempt that, whatever poor schmuck they get to direct is in for a rude awakening when they realize he can't pull that off at all. :funny:
:hehe:

It's funny. It's like they don't realize what those that want Batfleck and Cavill back want, is Snyder and his gloom and doom back. And they know it doesn't sell, so they try these half measures that please no one, and it's insane.

After the release of the She-Hulk’s DD episode, Marvel.com recently confirmed that the Daredevil that Cox plays in She-Hulk is the same one from the Netflix series therefore making that series canon to the MCU proper, which by extension means the shows by Marvel television(at least the Netflix ones) may also qualify as canon.

Which is pretty much the foundation of the Snyderverse if you think of it. With BvS it was like they said "Ok let's keep Nolan's darker and more grounded tone for every character, but also try to marvelise it with more fantastical elements, easter eggs, nods to the comics, a shared universe because it's hip, and hope for the best". And they're basically still experimenting with the recipe ever since, with the aforementioned results.

I mean….was it so difficult to just say this from the very beginning instead of playing all this smoke and mirrors??

So just a heads up, anyone complaining about the use of a certain character in the latest She-Hulk gets an insta-ban.

This.

I was reading some of the comments in the She-Hulk forums and scratching my head.

If someone had told me as a kid that someday we'd have comics-accurate versions of Daredevil, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, GOTG, Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi, Captain America, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and on and on, all existing in the same cinematic universe and able to interact with each other on screen, I would have thought I was dreaming.

Sure it might not all be perfect, but these are very exciting times to be a CBM, particularly a Marvel, fan.

I'm just glad we're getting what we're getting. I can live with some spotty VFX and lighter characterizations. The world as we know it may be on life support, but I'll enjoy what Marvel is dishing out as long as I can.

I am kind of sad that my old murderous Governor killed off MI's potential to grow as a a filming location.

Join the club. North Carolina would’ve probably been the Marvel hub if it weren’t for Pat McCrory, the NC state legislature and the late founder of Chik fil A (based in Atlanta) killing our 25% film incentives in 2014.

Iron Man 3 is the biggest movie shot in the Tar Heel State and I think Marvel would’ve made CA:TWS (and possibly more) here if they kept the film incentives.

Jersey has a film studio now, and spots here can easily double for NYC if the city's too expensive/difficult to schedule

and Ms. Marvel should be shot here entirely, no reason to have Georgia as a stand in

Truth. Am I the only one who's getting tired of seeing this at the end of EVERYTHING?

I'd 100% agree if I didn't live here :oldrazz: Off the top of my head:

1. Dr. Strange first met Tony Stark about 200 yards from my front door
2. Cassie's school from Ant-man & The Wasp is where I vote
3. My wife's office window was in Ms. Marvel several times and her building will be in the next Guardians
4. Spider-man first met the Vulture in the park I run in every day
5. Hawkeye met the LARPing team in roughly the same spot Dr. Strange met Tony

And I'm certain there's more I'm forgetting.

All that said.... I really wish they'd shoot more things on location :funny:

That must be cool, lol.

If NJ has the same kind of film incentives as NY, they’d be more competitive. Studios are chasing film incentives and/or seeing how favorable overseas currency is.

I mean, more studios should film in Australia because $1USD=$1.55AUD . It may not be as favorable as it was in the early aughts (where WB was shooting a lot of films because the AUD currency was half of the USD) but that’s considerable savings right off the bat.

Shooting on location would mean they'd actually have to pay to people to dress up sets. Why do that when you can film in a green box and not pay people to fill some ugly grey background :o

I like what I’ve seen of those big ash LED screens they’re using for backgrounds now. I know it’s not always possible to shoot at a real place but it’s a damn shame how fake some of these movies look sometimes.

Yea but even the Volume is far from perfect... Andor is benefitting greatly from location shooting over using the Volume like they did on Mando and Boba

It's a great asset for the Actors, but not as much when it comes to the final product vfx-wise

And I thought they used the volume for Love & Thunder, but based on what Bale said, it sounds like they still used a lot of standard blue/green screen

Enjoyed Daredevil in She-Hulk. This approach fits very much in line with the original fantastical and light-hearted Lee comics. I loved Netflix's take but what Marvel is doing here is refreshing and doesn't necessarily lessen the character at all.

I'm totally open to see the next iteration of Batman have a similar approach, too.

From the making of doc on Disney+, I think the main sequence the Volume was used for in Love & Thunder was the "Welcome to the Jungle" sequence in the beginning.
