Switch The Official Nintendo Switch Thread - Part 2

This feels like a snub at Sony.
Yeah, and they just offered the same deal to Steam. Trying to pressure Sony to accept the same or look bad I guess ahead of meeting with regulators.

I think my preferred outcome is that Nintendo and Valve accept the deal, while Sony rejects it. . . and then Sony loses their FTC case, in part because of their obvious hypocritical behavior. Thus resulting in Call of Duty being available on all platforms *except* Sony, and Sony being forced to acknowledge that third party games *are not under their control*, and can't be just taken for granted.

Nah, the ideal outcome is that the sale is stopped until California has f\inished their investigation of Acti\Blizz, thus preventing them from using the sale to save their golden parachutes.

I am looking forward to seeing more of Nintendo's release plans for 2023. Really don't have much past Zelda in May. And even then, the early part of the year feels a bit thin.

I am hoping they expand the Switch Online to include GB/GBA games and such in the near future. Maybe also add some other retro titles to the Genesis/NES/SNES side as well.

Going back to the original Hyrule Warriors, and I had forgotten just how much freakin content is in this game. And how long it will take to go through all the Adventure Maps.

Okay, why is so much text suddenly all white? Did they bork something in the latest update?

I love my 8bitdo controllers, but this is mighty tempting.

Same here. I'm kind of hoping for the TMNT NES game to make an appearance. Mad Max was also another one I played as a kid.

I see GoldenEye for N64 is getting close to the online. So stoked!

Wait what? Goldeneye is coming to the N64 online?

I would not bet too much on seeing a lot of games from Konami, Capcom, and Square Enix, who love reselling those games. Still not sure how the deal with Microsoft is working.

They announced it back in September if I remember correctly. Someone has posted maybe a week ago that it could land on the switch this month. Could be just a rumor though.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.

omfg I don’t have the Switch online addition…but I need it then

Man, seeing all the discussion of Fire Emblem Engage's localization is exhausting. More gender neutral language and removing more romantic language with minor characters, how awful.

just wish the online play was on the xbox too instead of split screen.

played it not a fan of the control layout mainly the camera I think the xbox feels better to me

The control layout on the Switch is terrible but this helped a bit:

Still, the fact that you have to change the controller layout entirely to achieve that is annoying. That aside, I've been having a lot of fun with it and it's brought back a ton of memories. It's probably been about 20 years since I last played GoldenEye. I still have it along with my N64 but they're trapped in a busted drawer that can only be freed with the help of power tools so playing it on the Switch was an easier alternative. I also forgot how much of a challenge those last five or so levels can be, especially Control. I could never beat that one above Agent difficulty as a kid.

Looks like Nintendo is bringing back the game vouchers, which, lets be honest, is about as good a deal you will get on Nintendo games as you can get.

Definitely something to think about with Tears of the Kingdom on the horizon.

Eh, you can regularly get a better deal by hitting stuff like the Black Friday sale. They just don't crash the MSRP a week after launch like some of their competitors prefer to do.

I see it is Direct rumor season. Alwasy fun.
