The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

Ezra Miller is the #1 problem with the movie and it’s about three different versions of him. Not really helping matters.
It’s a huge waste of the Flash rogues gallery. Not what I expected from the guy that directed It.

Nice. Seeing a newly issued toy of the Keaton Batmobile gives me a real nostalgic feeling.

Will never top this (not mine).

Mine is sadly sans-box and I had to epoxy one of the wings on using an extra from that weird white/black camo Batmobile from 1992.

Though, finally incorporating the proper way the canopy opens is neat.

Being fair, Muschietti is only the director they actually ended up with, out of an absurd number of people who either said no, or took the job then quit. I suspect that the movie is much more defined by producer notes than directorial vision.

Well in It Chapter 1 Batman 89 was shown on the marquee as playing at the Derry movie theater. With or without Ezra Miller going back to the Batman 89 universe was part of Muschietti’s agenda. Not to do a solo Flash movie. He even said the movie is about a different version of JL. It’s gonna have no more focus on Flash’s home world than either of Snyder’s JL. Just about his parents and Iris is a minor character.

Who would have thought a movie called The Flash would have General Zod but no Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd or Reverse Flash? It’s like a movie called Superman taking place more in Gotham than Metropolis or Smalville where the Joker is the villain and no Lex Luthor.
They’re making too big a deal of how The Flash is the guy that breaks open the multiverse and not enough about how he is the fastest man alive.

The writer is Christina Hodson. She always seems to take one comic series and make a completely different adaptation (for the worse), as well as always using Snyder characters in some way, but she'll be far from being the only one to blame if this movie sucks of course.
It's one of the reasons I never cared for Batgirl when it was announced.

Maybe in the new DCU there can be a better Birds of Prey (and Gotham City Sirens) at least. A new Flash is going to take much longer.

This movie seems like is going to kind of be a second Justice League movie with all the characters in it.

Producer Peter Safran was very effusive about The Flash when talking about the slate for this year. Didn’t say whether Ezra was done after this film or they want to see how their recovery is after June.

They don't want to say that Miller is out before their supposedly "best superhero film in years" even arrives. But Miller would be out even without all the horrible accusations. Pretty much everyone else is.

Yeah if they say he is done you basically kill the film.

I dont know, i can see them keeping Miller if things turn out well.
If Miller can get enough support with their recovering and doing better thing, if the movie makes a lot of money.

But for now its either way pointless to ask them about that.
They will evade clear statements as much as they can until the movie has its majority of the box office run behind it.
Miller should be gone for sure, but it wouldnt be the first time someone gets away with bad stuff.
Like look at how Hollywood simps after Brad Pitt despite the way he treated his family.

Yep, I'm pretty sure Miller's finished as the Flash.

Aside from the universe the titular character comes from being disregarded the problem with the movie being all about the multiverse is that now it’s been done. Marvel already did two multiverse movies. One of the front runners for the Best Picture Oscar this year is about multiverses. But if it were a straight up Flash solo origin movie it wouldn’t be as unoriginal.

Is it your contention that origin films aren't unoriginal?

It's looking more and more like they're leaning towards keeping Ezra at this point. I'm not watching this movie with him in it and after James Gunn's lackluster reveal it doesn't look like I'll be bothering with DC in general either.

Where is it implied Ezra is staying? From what I read it just sounds like they are saying the right things since they don't want to talk his upcoming film.

A new Gunn tweet has most leaning towards they're gone after this film now. :hehe:

Of course! Cause everyone is so reactionary ;)

We have to take ensuring with a grain of salt because the film is coming out.
