You could feel it coming once they got moved to Sundays at 10 PM. The show has been dragging ever since COVID, mainly because they've kept much of the show way too socially-distanced (likely so they could get Linda Hunt safely on set) for far too long and done away with so many of the action sequences.

A lot of their cast is also aging out of doing the big action stunts too.

The shows kinda lost its charm and sparked imo, once Deeks and Kensi got married that tentative tension of drama was gone, losing the wonder twins Neil and Eric also hurt the show because the tech, pop culture references speech that was comedic gold was funny to watch and their replacement are dull as wood. Hetty kept things always interesting with how she knew more than she was telling and often times her mind games were clues to the task at hand. While I like Admiral Kilbride, he’s too much of a stickler for my tastes. When Tony DiNozzo visited the L.A. branch he basically referenced Sam & Callen as “The West Coast Avengers” which he was right on the money with btw. Unfortunately the team has kinda been reinforcing into a more of a government system under the watchful eyes of Kilbride rather than the Wild West vigilantes they once were.

hopefully the final season will end off with a colossal big bang finisher that harkens back to the good old days.

I quit watching sometime before Deeks and Kensi got married. There was a point I realized I was not enjoying it anymore and stopped. Figured they would get married, have kids, etc. I hear about the occasional change in the leadership and pace though.

The finale of NCIS: LA was sweet, I’m glad Callen got a happy ending with Anna. Love the callbacks and a special surprise appearances at the end.

last night episode tribute to ducky was heartwarming and a beautiful send-off for David McCallum.

Meanwhile over on Hawai'i it felt like a Los Angeles episode with Vanessa and Todd on the main case and the other partners working a comic relief related b mission. Don't you know if a Con Air flight goes down on the calm Pacific Ocean it will just float there just as the mercenary extraction team planned. And with an all hands on deck fugitive search for the Con Air convicts, when the previous episode said we were moving WitSec protectees its not Tommy Lee Jones coming in to take charge but it is run out of NCIS.
