The Mandalorian Chapter 21 Spoiler Discussion

Introducing Zeb by just having him wander into frame is hilarious. It's kinda neat that he's just there, but this show so often feels like it's winking to the audience to let you know about that guest star or that reference that it completely threw me he just came in casually.

I didn't even clue into it right away. I was like "oh, it's a Lasat, have they ever been in live-action before? That's neat. Oh, that's Steve Blum. Huh."

It felt like one of those cameos sitcoms used to do. Hey look, it's a character from the show that aired directly before this. You're definitely going to be talking about this at the water cooler tomorrow. No, we aren't going to acknowledge it, and we're offended you would ask.

Return of Swamp Thing: Redux

Bring back Peter Ramsey next season. This episode was great from the storytelling and the action. Glad Bo is going to unite the Mandalorians and the New Republic stuff was interesting. Also interesting that Moff Gideon has Mando’s on his side. Seeing Zeb was a nice surprise and most likely we’ll see him again in Ahsoka. Overall this was the best episode of the season and had everything I love about this show.

I wasn't sure till the credits. It didn't sound too Blummy, you know. But, its good to know they have the model all set before Ahsoka.

Also, get this man in some armor and go all space scottish on the cult.

Ironically, also gives us another Mando with weird aging.

So, is Din no longer the main character of this show? It feels like all of the focus and character development has been given to Bo Katan.

I don't even know what Din's character arc is supposed to be for this season.
He was busy being the main character for the second half of Book of Boba Fett. :o

This episode also did a great job of highlighting just how ****ed up the New Republic's bureaucracy is at the moment. Nothing encapsulates that better than Carson having to go all the way to Coruscant just to get his request denied in person. Anyone who's worked in an office building that's had to go up and down stairs all day for menial tasks knows this man's pain. Figure your **** out, Tim Meadows.

So happy to see the most fun feature of the Gauntlet fighter, dropping Mandos everywhere. Though, I have questions of how the Armorer deployed.
Could be because Jedi don't need jetpacks.

No, I don't think so either. But I can't think of a reason for the character to have a Coruscanti/British accent instead of the actress' American accent, unless the Armorer is not just concealing her face but hiding her identity and is afraid that someone would recognize her voice.

I was never even a fan of the Zeb character in Rebels, but I sure was happy to see him pop up in this episode! I thought he looked great here!

Salute to Peter Ramsey…really fun episode from start to finish!

So, someone with access to beskar freed Moff Gideon? Interesting. Did Koska Reeves and/or Axe Woves not only abandon Bo, but switch sides altogether?

Since beskar is sacred to Mandalorians, I can't believe they would leave any behind if it was easy to retrieve. That derelict had been adrift since the attack, with no rescue, so there was no reason for the attackers to depart in haste. Someone planted that beskar fragment to frame the Mandalorians.

Props to them for refraining from having Zeb say his catchphrase.

Bo-Katan's role at the end of this episode would've absolutely gone to Din if Pedro Pascal had been available. That's where his character arc in the first two seasons was leading. I think I actually prefer this though. The change would also explain some of the choices earlier in the season. Things are definitely coming together now though. Excited for next week!

Edit: Have to give some love for Gorian Shard and his amazing ship too. Still no IG-11 though.

This guy rules.

Also, love his shoulder-wear... has very Dash Rendar meets Purge Trooper vibes.

AND - where is Dash Rendar? If anyone needs to be ported into the live action universe, it's my boy that I saved the Shadows Of The Empire with for hours upon hours on the N64.

So, in the same episode, we get the best cinematography, the best air and ground combat choreography, the Mandalorians finally make a smart decision by leaving the creature killing/child napping beach, and the plot finally moves forward again in an interesting direction. On top of that, we got a Rebels cameo and hints of what’s going on with Gideon. Must be Christmas.

Din still feels like a passenger in his own series, as well as speaking dialogue as if from reading from a script.

I wonder if they took a lot of the plot stuff they were going to use in the Rangers of the New Republic series that was abandoned and decided to use it here. Made it feel like half a setup for that series and half like a Mandalorian episode.

All in all, definitely my favorite episode of the season thus far. My interest and engagement in the show has been rekindled.

I'd love for Gideon to mention that Cara helped him break-out and yet he killed her since she can't be trusted.

So, literally her character role in Fast 6. :hehe:

Great episode that! I watched it along with the 2 Bad Batch episodes so it was a very nice Star Wars binge. Mandalorians are awesome when dropping and attacking together. They are a great addition to Star Wars and only on the next level down on the badass stakes from Jedi and Sith.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Boba hijacking Bo’s future solo show (wish that happens) can complete the circle/triangle /bring balance to the Force. :D

She’s contributing a lot to this show but Din needs to start doing more from here.

Now, that was an awesome episode. I swear the action in this show just gets better and better and a lot of it felt like stuff you would definitely see on the bigscreen, especially all those ship battles.

The Mando's were just on a whole other level of badassery during this episode and I loved seeing every minute of it and we finally got some cool set up with Moff Gideon in this episode.

Things are looking like they are about to get very interesting.

Anyone else get a feeling that The Armorer is setting Bo up to take a fall down the line? Or that the Mandos might turn on Din by the end of the season?
The creepy cult leader vibes were entirely too strong in that scene at her old forge, she's up to something. I won't be surprised if she's directly involved in whatever happened with Gideon.

That wouldn't make sense at all.

It seems all a little too cosy for now to last. (I like cosy though :D )

The ship battles in the whole show have seemed film quality to me. Really good classic Mandalorian action this episode. This is the most rewatchable episode of the season to date, and I’m looking forward to seeing Gideon again.

When the credits rolled, she was presented as a lead right next to Pedro. Everyone else was co-starring, so this might be permanent.

And yeah, since Din got redeemed he's not doing anything. He's just along for the ride. I feel like this is worse than what happened to Boba Fett, Din appears to be a random Mandalorian in the group, he could be anyone. There's nothing "special" about him anymore. It's all about Bo-Katan now, and I'm not sure if I'm a fan of that.

Fun episode, I can only complain about the people of the city casually jogging while they were being bombed. :D Also it kind of seemed like there were only about 20 of them, you would think there would be more...
