Considering how difficult it seems to fit in new movies into the schedule, I am always looking for a way to fit other characters into existing franchises as supporting characters.

I would love to see Dr. Strange interact with the other supernatural characters. Playing Obi-Wan/Pr. X to the whole bunch sort of.

Yeah that would be great actually especially the midnight Suns. I can see them as like strange's response to the avengers for the supernatural division

A Supernatural Avengers team would be pretty easy to put together since a number of characters have already been introduced to the general public (some more successfully than others). A team-up consisting of Strange (1 prior film), Blade (3 prior films and a TV series), Wanda (1 prior film) and Ghost Rider (2 prior films) wouldn't require much team introduction and could have a darker tone than the other MCU offerings. I wouldn't be surprised if we get this instead of a straight Dr. Strange sequel, especially since "The Defenders" name is off the table.

I would definitely still want to see jennifer kale as part of the midnight sons though, just as a friend to wanda and of course because she's a great character

Of course Jennifer's outfit will need some updating though

There are alot of Midnight sons characters to choose from, Morbius is not off the table as he was going to be the villain in Blade 2 so if the rights for Blade go to Marvel the surely they will be able to use Morbius.

BladeManthing
Damien Helstrom
Encantu the Living Mummy and
Werewolf by Night

The Midnightsons.

That'd be an awesome team.

Yeah, the alt ending to the first Blade had Morbius on the rooftop. Makes sense since he genetically engineered himself into being a vamp. Well, he was bitten by a radioactive bat, but still. Heh. It fits the sequels story of genetically engineered vamps. So he has to be part of the deal. Marvel vampires of all kinds are free to MCU. As well as Spider-man, since Morbius was originally a Spidey villain.

I was just gonna say Hellstorm. Good one. I could see Werewolf by Night and Ghost Rider being the sequel. Teaching them how to control their dark transformations and Hellstorm to use the hellish powers given to him without it overtaking him. If Clea isn't introduced in the first, she should in this one. Me thinks Rachel Mcadams may be playing her. And with that, we'll have appropriately obtained enough of the characters in Marvel worthy of the title of Midnight Sons.

Also, once Strange deals with Mordru and Dormammu, me thinks his sister Umar would be good for a sequel. And maybe Mordru will return, like Loki in Thor. Not the main threat, but downgraded into being another obstacle.

It might be fun to counteract Stephen's more stodgy British upper classness with Damien's youthful 'you can't tell me what to do' punkness. I have no idea who could play that role well though

You know what I'd like? A real Nightstalkers movie. Based on the 1992-94 comic. With the classic lineup. Just Blade, Frank Drake and Hannibal King. An R-rated, hard action-horror movie.

I think that's far more likely to show up on Netflix. Not that I disapprove, it'd work well as a Netflix show. I just don't see it syncing very well with the tone they seem like they are aiming for with Dr Strange.

It probably is. But I'd like to see Marvel Studios branch out more, and what better excuse to make a different, R-rated movie than a horror property?

Same with Ghost Rider. I'd like to see a theatrical, R-rated take on the character. See, I've always thought that the popularity of comic book adaptations is THE good excuse to resuscitate dead movie genres in a big way. Like Guardians of the Galaxy did for the space epic. Or Deadpool hopefully will for old-school, R-rated action movies (/comedies). With a new twist, you know? I'm still convinced a great Jonah Hex movie could do wonders for the western genre, for example. And mainstream horror definitely needs a new shine!

This would be my line-up.

I chose Elsa Bloodstone as a member because I like her, she could be fun, and she has been a lot more popular than some of the characters that have been part of the Midnight Sons, having been in Bloodstone, Nextwave, Legion of Monsters and Marvel Zombies, plus appearing in Avengers Alliance and Marvel Future Fight.

Of course there's nothing that limits the team to one female character, but I think most female supernatural characters aren't really very interesting. I'm pretty sure nobody really cares about Victoria Montesi anymore. I really don't care about Jennifer Kale. Looking at other potential members we have Topaz, who nobody really cares about. Scarlet Witch and Nico Minoru are more popular, but I feel they'd work better in other movies. Also, both don't seem very knowledgable in supernatural stuff, or at least wouldn't be early on in the MCU.
Clea is one character that I could see working as well, but I don't know a lot about her. And then there's Satana, who could work as well, but I'm afraid she'd just turn completely evil at some point because the writers don't know what to do with her (the same holds for Daimon, btw).

^ Maybe if we're lucky, we'll get a NEXTWAVE Netflix series or movie. :D Doubt it. Heh.

Midnight Sons. Oh, the potential for greatness. Doctor Strange would be a good catalyst for the supernatural Marvel side, being that he's the Master of the Mystic Arts, but also a mediator between the regular ol'heroes and the crazy, magical things in the MU. Can't wait to see what the MCU develops.

I like SirStrangeFolks lineup. Bloodstone is an interesting choice. Funny and badass. She'd be great for brevity. Blade would be cool to see as a hero that's just a half-vamp/dhampir that fights the night, rather than always vampires. I like when he goes out of his box, though I'd dig on a Nightstalkers and a proper Marvel Dracula (maybe Lilith) and/or Varnae, the demon that started the vampiric virus in ancient times. That's a great story to be told.

I LOVE Ghost Rider. But how to bring him into the fold... I'd be fine as a backup character that gets expounded upon in Doctor Strange or whatever they create. Very much so. He could be in a Doctor Strange sequel dealing with Mephisto and the other devils of Marvel. Figuring that Johnny wields a great power, yet he's an idiot. Yet also realizing he was destined to be this host of the Spirit of Vengeance. Realizing that if there's a Hell, then there's a Heaven, and figuring out where the Ghost Rider's true power comes from. That he's the right hand of The One Above All. This could set a in motion something greater than the Infinity Gauntlet when audiences are left with, "Now what?" With Phase IV.

I think a Midnight Sons movie would be great. With the Defenders being used for the Netflix series (and seeing how they used to fight mostly mystical and magical threats), I think having a magic team is necessary (unless they all join the Avengers). We have the big guns (Avengers), cosmic team (Guardians), street level team (Defenders) and it's time for Marvel's magic characters to get the spotlight.

The roster also depends on what way they want to go. The traditional Midnight Sons are a lot grittier compared to some of the traditional Marvle magic characters. So maybe a mix of both? I'd like to see Man-Thing on the team and I don't know if they'll pursue Damien Hellstrom (don't want to get the soccer moms mad!).

Doctor Strange
Blade
Ghost-Rider
Morbius
Wolf By NIght
Jennifer Kale
Man-Thing

Those would be the first movie's team, with Mephisto as the main villain. I already have a few things worked out from what I'd want to see from a Midnight Sons trilogy one day. I also have two ideas for a Midnight Sons prequel set in the Victorian era and a future team of Midnight Sons in a sequel to the trilogy.

Not to mention you'd potentially have not only the Midnight Sons franchise, but also revitalized franchise potential in Blade, Ghost-Rider and any other supernatural character on the team that Marvel Studios thinks deserve a trilogy.

And even spinoff television shows like The Witches, Darkhold Redeemers(starring Victoria Montesi) and The Blood(starring the Caretaker).

Then let's take Mephisto's potential greatness as one of the MCU's best(if not the best) villain. He's the type of villain who can face off against pretty much anyone in the Marvel universe. Because he takes different forms, you could even have different actors playing him across multiple movies if you wanted..ya' know, for moments when Mephisto isn't in one of his many monstrous demon forms. And yes, Mephisto is a survivor. Unlike most of the MCU's villains, he would live to fight another day...and another day, and another... Mephisto's versatility is off the charts!

There is too much potential in the Midnight Sons for Marvel to ignore...hopefully we see them sooner in the MCU rather than later. I'd love to tackle them for Marvel Studios if I ever got the chance.

Had to make this. One step closer to making the Midnight Sons a reality.
My ideal lineup is Strange, Blade, Morbius, Ghost-Rider, Wolf By Night, Man-Thing and Jennifer Kale going against Mephisto.

I like the idea of a darker supernatural genre Marvel Studios could tap into but the character as depicted on screen now goes more with a superhero ensemble and really is hard to transition I think at this point into something else.

"The Defenders" may be off the table but what about "The New Defenders" or "The Secret Defenders"?:cwink: It would be a fun nod to what the Defenders volume 1 was renamed before it ended as well as attempted 1993 series relaunch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defenders_(comics)#Secret_Defenders

Otherwise, since Adam Warlock hasn't been introduced yet maybe Strange will fill his role post Infinity War in an Infinity Watch movie. I think this goes with the whole cosmic defender of reality role he seems to have assumed in the MCU with Endgame coming out next year more so than a supernatural teamup film at least as far as how Marvel Studio's has decided to play their hand with the character in the movies he's been in.

I’d really love to see Midnght Sons get greenlit once they’ve introduced enough of the characters into the MCU.

Rumours about Ironheart make it sound like Mephisto's role will be inspired by how he is in Doctor Strange: Damnation. In that comic Wong assembles a version of the Midnight Sons that also includes some characters that we've seen in the MCU already like Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, and Man-Thing (along with classic members like Blade and Ghost Rider). If Mephisto is established in that role already they might take inspiration from that storyline later on for a Midnight Sons project.

Then I wonder how would Charlize's character of Clea factor into this?
