Across the Spider-Verse Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse News and General Discussion

I feel like a lot of people are gonna be upset at how this movie ends on a cliffhanger, my theater had one guy shouting "WTF?" but this lives up to the hype. I got some nitpicks but It's so much packed into one movie.

Pure cinema. The meat to the story is really human in the ways great Spidey stories should be and the way it sort of questions aspects of the character's history is a really interesting, and the way it's all presented really does just push what's possible visually.

Hoping the third is able to maintain the quality and finish out the story in an equally satisfying way - best trilogy contender on the way then.

I hope they're saving some cool Spidey's for the third one, I have some in mind. There's one that was confirmed by Lord or Miller that I'm guessing because it got split into two big movies they're being saved for the third.

Keeping my thoughts concise for now since I'm tired, but I loved it! The animation was stunning, the Miles family stuff was heartwarming, loved all the nods to us longtime fans.

My biggest gripe with the movie is that it definitely felt like the first part of something... it just didn't feel like a complete movie, but that's just my opinion.

Definitely going to give this another watch, I was blown away by the animation.

The lack of no mention of Spider-Man 2 is disgraceful.

Don't click unless you've seen the movie, cameo talk lol.
I almost missed Typeface (with a speaking role) after being freaked out seeing Videoman and Atari Green Goblin together. I can't believe all 3 of those, there's probably a ton more I missed from all the disbelief.

I have no words.
I am paralyzed, dumbstruck, flabbergasted.
Its like i was seeing color for the first time.

Loved this movie. I laughed so hard
when Spider Punk peaced out when the shenanigans started happening. Dude just opened a portal and said peace lmao.

Utterly amazed by that. So imaginative, great visuals and about as good as you can make a Spider-verse film aside from the lack of resolution within the film.

I didn’t know any spoilers going in so was surprised by that. The next film needs to get here asap!

This was an amazing movie. I cannot wait for Beyond the Spiderverse! I had such a blast with this movie

It's shocking haha but everybody is entitled to their opinion. for me, Spider-Man 2 is the most pure Spider-Man story put to film. It contains everything that makes that character so compelling and relatable. If someone was to ask me which Spider-Man film to watch to understand the character, I'd easily say Spider-Man 2. The first film too of course, for the origins and all that great stuff, but Spider-Man 2 displays what separates that character from other comic book characters. It's a Peter Parker story through and through and it doesn't get more pure than that movie. There's nothing complicated, there's no multiversal story or baggage of other heroes, it's simply Peter Parkers story told in a respectful way. It also has a fantastic score, beautiful cinematography, incredible action set pieces, and impressive use of practical fx, stunt work, and cgi that still holds up to this day.

I also think people label things as "corny" too easily. Raimi has a sincerity to his stories, and even in MOM, that shined through with those moments between Strange and Christine. There's nothing ironic about it, or undercutting it with bad jokes. If that's "corny" for some, so be it, but I see it more as not being ashamed to show pure heart.
