Paraphrasing myself from the SV thread: Utterly amazed by that. So imaginative, great visuals and about as good as you can make a Spider-verse film, well till the next one. If this series has to end, I hope they keep the team together to keep giving us more animated projects of such quality.

Across The Spider-Verse was truly a mesmerizing cinematic experience. It’s just so darn good, but I’ll refrain from calling it the best Spider-Man movie ever as I still need some time to process it but man at that very least one of the greatest animated films I’ve ever seen.
My top 3 for different reasons (in no order) are SM2, NWH and ATSV. I guess that would be the same for many. The peak of each era, except the TASM films which never hit high enough, despite me loving Garfield and Stone.

It’s definitely in my top 5 list.
SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE is a wonderful creative, visually dazzling spectacle with a good story . The animation is next level quality with a unique sense of style that is a delightful to behold.

I'm sure I'm gonna love ATSV. I loved ITSV as well, so if this is as good as that, I'll be happy. Don't know if it'll be able to achieve what the Raimi films did for ME. Emphasis on "me" before people get their pitchforks out, but I thought ITSV made me one happy Spider-Man fan again after disliking TASM movies and being indifferent towards the MCU Spidey at the time.

my current ranking of Spider-Man films. Spider-Man 3 has flaws, but I still find it to be very fun and I feel like I enjoy it even more now than I did then.

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3
No Way Home
Into The Spider Verse
Homecoming
Venom
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Far From Home
TASM 2
TASM

bet you weren't expecting me to rate the Venom films that high. They're loads of fun, and I'm not ashamed to admit it haha. Far From Home deflated me when I saw it the first time. the Mysterio stuff was great, especially that one sequence where Spider-Man is in Mysterios world. But so much of that movie doesn't feel like Spider-Man at all to me. I was so let down that the first follow up to the fantastic finale of Endgame was that movie. Thankfully, watts redeemed Hollands Spider-Man for me with No Way Home which fixed many of the issues I had.

I just did a morning showing (lot of families) - totally worth rushing to see it rather than waiting.
yeah I'm honestly in a hurry to see it myself haha. I don't have work until 5 PM tomorrow, and I usually get up super early anyway (between 5 and 6 AM), so I'll catch the 11 AM one tomorrow.

It’s not fair to Spidey to include the Venom films on the list. Got to give the guy a chance at least. :yay:

I would have seen it last night but lying google told me the UK release date was today! 5pm? You have tons of time then lol, could see it twice! :D.

I go back and forth on including them in my rankings. Technically they're not Spider-Man films because the title character isn't in there, but he is from his universe.

yeah haha, I think for me though usually prefer seeing films on a free day simply because I know that afterwards I can just come home and relax. But I gotta make an exception for this!

Yeah, it's a risk for me being tired at work so I only do it for the top tier films that I can't wait for (and if I'm hearing the reception is living up to my wishes).

Lawd ya'll are making me rabid to see ATSV, and I was already excited as **** about this movie!

Looks like I won't be seeing it until Tuesday next week at the earliest, but I'll console myself this weekend with a re-watch of ITSV :yay:

If someone had told me years ago that an animated Sony film might possibly replace the first couple Raimi flicks as my favourite all-time Spidey movie, I would have been like:

I really have to re watch ITSV, as I watched it once and actively disliked it. But then again, I’m crazy because my Spider-Man movie rankings are as follows:

No Way Home
ASM
Spider-Man
Far From Home
Homecoming
Spider-Man 2
ASM 2
ITSV
Spider-Man 3

I'm not gonna rank every Spidey movie but top 5 are:

Spider-man 2 (sorry y'all this movie, I STILL feel this movie is a perfect distillation of a Spider-man story.)
Across The Spider-verse
No Way Home
Spider-Man
Into The Spider-Verse

Btw, just a little side note re: No Way Home, I was rewatching it before ATSV last night and although I still adore the film, its for sure flawed from a scripting standpoint, and I feel that it definitely loses a bit of its sheen upon rewatches, especially if you're watching it at home by yourself. I think No Way Home was designed to be an amusement park ride type of movie thats best enjoyed with a crowd. Those BIG cheer moments dont quite hit when youre watching it alone :funny:

What a great portrayal/interpretation of The Spot! Way beyond my expectations. These creators have a great imagination along with top skills to make those very interesting ideas come to life.

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Spider-Man No Way Home
3. Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse
4. Spider-Man
5. Spider-Man Homecoming
6. Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse
7. Spider-Man Far From Home
8. Spider-Man 3
9. The Amazing Spider-Man
10. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Now, that I've had a full night to sleep on it I think I finally know what my ranking would be:

ATSV
SM2
NWH
ITSV
SM
HC
FFH
TASM 2
TASM
SM3

As much as I love the movie, I fully recognize that NWH has a lot of problems when it comes to the writing, but that movie gave me the Tom Holland Spider-Man I've been waiting for since CW which was super satisfying IMO.

You add in all the nostalgia of seeing the Raimi villains again on top of Tobey/Andrew and you got yourself one hell of a movie, especially seeing Dafoe comeback as Goblin and being a force to be reckoned with.

I've also grown to like the TASM movies more over the years, because at first, I didn't like them at all. They still have their problems, but I enjoy them more as pure Spider-Man movies compared to the Holland's films.

Say what you will about the messy writing or the wonky pacing, but I really do love Marc Webb's direction in those movies and Andrew Garfield/Emma Stone had great chemistry in both.

While I still enjoy No Way Home, it's definitely got issues
If it wasn't for the nostalgia-gasm, it would be a middling movie at best

and all the nostalgia is cheap heat, its like a wrestler saying "It's great being back in Detroit!" to get some free applause

And that's why the idea of multiverse movies bringing back every character to ever play various superheroes does nothing for me... I'd rather a well-scripted movie with a modern cast than a mish mash of a movie with a bunch of aging actors playing roles they played 30 years ago

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse
Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse
Spider-Man
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Spider-Man 3
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

ATSV I think is a better movie than NWH, but NWH does give me that nostalgia drug in the best way I have seen these studios try and prey off it. So it hits home for me more for that reason.

No Way Home is still the best live action film. It's flawed but far superior to the Raimi movies. Spider-Man 2 is overrated and Dunst and the terrible love story really drag that one down for me.

These two Spider-Verse films are EASILY the greatest Spidey films ever made. It's not even close. They're next level and put ALL of the live action movies to shame.

I don’t trust anyone who ranks ITSV below any of the other Spider-Man films, other than ATSV*.

*(which I haven’t seen yet, but if word of mouth is to be believed, I’m sure I’ll also have it right at the top of my rankings.)
