I wonder what this could be...

This is certainly one of the strangest E3 appointment reminders we've received. Konami's media briefing begins at 5:45PM PST, and Konami has sent a cryptic poem, hinting at a major, unexpected announcement:

What better way
to end your day
at Konami's media briefing collecting ...
News for a major announcement
you were not expecting.

What could this "major announcement" be? If it's supposed to be "unexpected," it better not be Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360. Seriously. Stay tuned to Joystiq for live coverage from the press conference.

Maybe it's MGS4 staying a PS3 exclusive. Everyone is expecting a 360 announcement so...

:p

It isn't going to be an announcement of an Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4. It's been reconfirmed as a Playstation 3 exclusive. Recent news reports have Kojima downright refusing to make it multiplatform despite pressure from high brass. And if an Xbox 360 version were to be announced this E3, it would have already been announced at Microsoft's lackluster conference with Peter Moore having a new paint tatoo and playing the Metal Gear Solid theme on Guitar Hero like an *******.

It was Silent Hill 5. Doesn't look good in pictures but who knows. The plot however sounds very SH2ish. That's great.

I wouldn't worry about the graphics. It's still very early. Look back about a year at Silent Hill Origins screenshots and then look at the ones recently released. The old ones are very rough, and the new ones look as good as a good PS2 game.

Konami knows how to handle graphics, and can spruce things up very quickly. I'd be willing to bet that SH5 is going to be a darn pretty game.
