ummmmmmm i watched this movie tonight and i dont understand why it exists. first of all, i dont rememeber any mention of a house on the left..or why theres a huge ass house on the dvd cover. secondly, im so confused. those two dumb ****s deserved to die they were so emotionless and boring. why introduce 2 main characters then kill them 25 minutes into the movie????? why wes craven???? the only good part was when the mom bit the guys dick off lol. loves it. and...that's about it. i dont recommend this piece of **** to anyone unless i hate you, then yes, watch it youll like it. when does the woods come out? god

They inteintionally tried tricking people with the promotion, theatrical poster, etc... because they wanted people to be all the more shocked by the content.

I hated the film, I think it's very poorly executed, but had a good concept and it helped inspire great horror films.

It was movies with this type of very brutal, untamed style that helped pave the way for great hardcore horror. I just wish Craven didn't **** it up with weak acting, out of place music, goofy cops that feel like something out of police academy, etc...

He wrote the script for this film in one weekend by the way, and it shows.

i liked the story but the dialogue was silly, the acting was horrible, and i didnt really care about any of the characters.

A remake of this seems ineviteable with the way things are going.

There was talk that Rob Zombie was interested in it.

i like rob zombie, but im dunzo with all the classic remakes. texas chainsaw massacre and the hills have eyes were the only semi appealing current remakes ive seen.

the blob??? birds??? ugh

Well Rob Zombie is directing the next Halloween movie.

Its an important movie for the evolution of the horror genre.... but it isn't one really worth watching today.

Its slow, tedious, has badly placed comedic segments, and the almost porno-style rape scenes make you feel the movie feeling not so much horrified as you are sickened and manipulated.

But thankfully Craven improved an enormous amount by the time The Hills Have Eyes rolled around. :o ;)

I really enjoyed the Last House on the Left. It's supposed to make you feel sick, uncomfortable, and manipulated at some point. It's not the best horror movie ever made obviously, but to say it's a piece of **** is really pushing it in my opinion.

I thought that girl getting brutally stabbed by the killers and having her guts taken out was horrifying in itself.

But different strokes for different folks I guess.

As far as remakes go, I'd heard that the 2005 film Chaos was a pretty blatant rip-off of Last House on the Left. Has anyone seen it?

Chaos? No. To be honest, I haven't even heard of it until now. Who is in it?
