Superman Returns The unproduced sequel.

What do we know about it? Did it have a release date, a script, etc? Any plot details? This is a project that has always intrigued me. We know virtually nothing about it.

There was a report from the now-defunct IESB with some supposed plot points of the sequel. Brainiac, Jason being possessed, etc. It had the obvious plot progressions, but a little on the meh side for me with some stuff -- namely the kid being killed, after the big hullaballo that was his introduction, and the obvious implications of having a dead kid in a Superman movie.

Supermanhomepage also has some stuff in their archives. I remember some rumors I've never heard discussed since, such as an Indian actress being cast to play Supes's new love interest, or Kurtzman and Orci being courted to write a draft. Good times.

Wow! That sounds... interesting. I like some parts of it, others, not so much. I do wish we got a Superman Returns sequel instead of Man of Steel though.
