Still love this man but I have to admit he's not aging gracefully. Bale is better than Hugh Jackman though because I saw their Prestige premiere pics and Hugh looks so old.
Brad Pitt,Tom Cruise,Clooney,Denzel Washington,Ben Browder et al have wrinkles but they look really fit and dashing for guys on their 40's and beyond.

Those are the gain of Ryan Phillippe and DiCaprio,Tom Welling,Paul Walker,Chris Evans,Tobey Maguire of looking so young because they wont look old so quickly unless their lifestyle is on the FAST LANE. Good genes help too.
If Michael J.Fox is well no doubt this guy would still look young.

I greatly admire Bale's dedication to the acting craft and the way he transforms himself into the characters he portrays. But he went to far when he lost all that weight for The Machinist. Ok frankly, it was just stupid, especially since that movie made like no $$. I think it caused some damage to his skin. He lost the youthful glow that he had in American Psycho and Equilibrium. Now he looks like he's dehydrated all the time. Ironic, since Patrick Bateman was so into moisturizing.

Yes it was.

I remember it because it was around the same time that the (far superior) Jeremy Sisto starrer "Jesus: the Miniseries" came out.

I remember the Bale one because it was 1999 and Pernilla August played Mary -- funny because she had just played Shmi Skywalker in "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace."

I didn't realize Bale had played Jesus, though -- since in 1999 I was not really aware of Bale.

Uh, Cruise, gained all his weight in the latter half of 2006, after Holmes supposedly had her baby. Actually, while Holmes was getting skinnier, he was getting the lovely moobs and getting fatter. He must have been overeating to deal with living his sham of a life - the fake marriage, the suspect cult, etc... He had to fill the void somehow. I still stand by my earlier claim - the man is hideous.

The more I look at that picture, the more I realize how haggard he looks in it.
It's not the wrinkes. His whole skin looks terrible. But in Bale's defense that picture probably doesn't do him justice. You can take a bad picture of anybody.
