Now that the Novelization has come out, the spoilers are no longer speculation! This is it, if you want the movie 'spoiled' then you can read how the whole thing goes down. I started reading the book thread, but had to stop myself. How many of you are going to read the book, and how many are now going to avoid this forum to avoid temptation of reading the book?

i am staying away from the novelization thread and the 7 minute clip, but continue to discuss spoilers that anyone can figure out from watching the trailers

i dont mind knowing general plot points, like i said, those are kinda told in the trailers anyway, but i dont like to see to much of it

and in my opinion, the worst spoiler FOR ME is reading the novelization, because my imagination will set up disaster, i will read it, imagine it, and then it obviously wont be like i imagined it, so i dont want to be dissapointed

I know what you mean SamuraiSon6, I'm staying well away from that book.

As am I, I am sooooo tempted by it, and the movie is still 2 months away, but it will quite literally spoil the movie for me.

I am with you Samurai...I like to know the plot points and try to figure stuff out, but too much is too much for me!

I am worried that spoilers from the book will cross into other threads.

this may just be me, but i have a kind of different view on things. yes, when you read the novelization its a massive spoiler, but just because you know the story, it doesnt mean that you know exactly what you're going to get in the final film. you have to remember that the novelization is based on the first draft of the script, and that there are elements from that draft that ultimately don't make it into the finished product. for instance, in the Spider-Man 2 novel Doc Ock's tentacles actually dialogued with him in his mind. they chose not to do that in the final film, a pretty good decision but it would have been interesting in that first scene with Ock in the warf when he says that he hears something talking in his head to actually have heard these hissy, whispery type voices talking to him.

also, in the Batman Begins novelization, the scene where Batman interrogates Flass is much less intense than in the movie, a good example that the novelization differs from the final film in a few ways that you don't expect.

but of course, thats just me

I will not read the book and stop posting here until I see SM3

To me those aren't major differences at all. Doc Ock still 'thought talked' to his arms, it was totally implied. In the book they may have had actual dialouge, but thats because books have to talk a lot more about characters thoughts....like on the first page of the novel (in the first page of the novel thread) it talks about what pete, and the limo driver, are thinking. Thats just what books do.

I can't stand it I have to many questions about everything. :venom: I'm getting it and I was going to buy the game anyway so that would have spoiled things.

I have no problem with reading the book. Knowing what happens doesn't ruin the movie-going experience for me.

I'm all over every single spoiler that's posted. It seems now a days, studios include spoiling the movie in their marketing. Look at TMNT, they have "11" new clips from the movie.

Ditto.

The more the merrier, I say. Just makes me anticipate the movie even more.

FOR ME, that is a problem though, i might find something in the book that i think is AMAZING, i get hyped, and look forward to it in the movie, then it is NOT in the movie, then im disappointed. so again, FOR ME, i always watch a movie, then read the book, because usually the book goes into more details than the movie and its nice to be able to visualize those scenes as your reading them in the book:woot:

Here's what I'll do. I'm gonna buy the book but will not read it until after I see Spider-Man 3 in theaters. I will also keep reading and posting here until we see the last of the trailers and TV spots. After that, that's it for me.

I'm staying away from the book, and I'm careful here now to avoid getting any more spoiled for me.

Freaking Q&A! I read it back then, becuase so much B.S. was all over the place anyways, and I figured the odds of it being real were slim to nothing!

Now I've known the whole freaking movie for 2 years already. I really wish that thing hadn't leaked, or at least hadn't had so much of it confirmed. If it wasn't for all of the confirmation that leaked in the months after it, I'd have completely forgot about it by now.

I will spoil myself and read the book. seeing it in the theaters better than anything else. I mean no matter how much I get spoiled, I will enjoy seeing the film. and besides, most of the secret things in the film have not been revealed yet so we aren't that spoiled. like others have said the book will get me hyped to see the film.

Harry dies in a team up match

That's too much of a spoiler for me. I'd have rather not known that. I'd have rather not known the origin of the symbiote either, even though I'm extremely disapointed by it.

Way too freaking coincedental.

Despite everything I already know it will still be fun seeing how it all plays out.

If you didn't want to know this stuff, what the bleep are you doing in the "SPOILERS" forum?

Another fanboy not liking coincedences in the realm of comic books, sheesh. Damn-near everything of importance is usually coincedental in the comic book world.

Well, the last two movies i've always purchased the novels before hand, read them inside out and thought they were awesome. It made me want to see the movie even more, I love being spoiled.

I don't think that spoilers will ruin a movie like Spider-man 3. It's (primarily) an action movie, not a mystery or thriller. Spoilers ruin films like Usual Suspects or Inside Man. A Spider-man movie is more about style and execution than plot-points. Even for the most casual Spider-man fans, the first movie didn't have any surprises (plot-wise), but it was still awesome! If anything, I think a knowing a few spoilers can actually help hard-core fans enjoy the movie more, since it gives you time to get used to plot or character changes (i.e. natural webbing) that you my not like before the movie. Then when you see it, you can just enjoy the film for what it is.

I wont read the book until i see the movie first.

No particular reason, just personal tradition. :yay:

I just realized Captian Stacy has the best Avi on the boards.
