Lou Ferrigno in The Incredible Hulk!?

Source: TheDude
May 19, 2007

Here's an interesting bit from 'TheDude'. Lou Ferrigno, the original Hulk, was indeed at the Motor City Comic Con this weekend in Novi, Michigan. If this is accurate, we'll have to wait and see how big his role is...

I was at the Motor City Con in Detroit today, and Lou Ferrigno was there. We got to talking, and he revealed something he shouldn't have. Basically I asked him about if he knew anything about the new HULK film, he did confirm he will be in the movie, but he will play a "big important" part in the film. I looked at him, then he said something about playing a villian, I couldn't really hear over the loud noise. I asked him again, and he said he didn't want to get into trouble, whatever that means.

Louis Leterrier is directing the Marvel Studios movie, opening June 13, 2008. Edward Norton, Liv Tyler and Tim Roth star.

awesome... this should suck

Is it possible that Lou Ferrigno will actually be the body of Abomination? When I look at the photos of Ferrigno, his body has that more freakish unbalanced hugeness of 1970s/80s weightlifters....is it possible that Roth will transform into a green mutated Ferrigno?

Yes, I think it's possible. Think Ferrigno's body with prosthetic enhancements like even larger shoulders, a deformed back...

I think this whole 'cameo from the old stars' thing is getting rather played out.

In any event i think Ferrigino will be the voice of the Abomination rather than his body.....

same here ... lou should stick to cameos ...non speaking cameo roles

I think Lou is voicing The Hulk.

Tim will voice The Abomination.

But Lou said that he is going to play a villian so it won't be Hulk.

I wish people would shut up about Lou Ferrigno, the Hulk show sucked anyways.

As much as I loved the show, and Lou, I'm skeptical of this story for one HUGE reason. Allow me to quote Wiki:

"At the age of three, Lou suffered an ear infection and permanently lost 80% of his hearing."

'Nuff said. I mean, it's possible he could still hear this dude 'over the loud noise', but I'm just very skeptical.

I know what your getting at, I thought the same thing, but seriously, what about, sign language, lip reading, etc etc. Anythings possible.

And the hearing aid that Ferrigno has been wearing for the last 40 years...

You guys are looking over the most easy assumption... He could just be used for the Abomination like Priest was used for HULK. Musculature and whatnot, may even be the voice or something, doesn't mean it has to be him in the physical sense.

I LOVED the show when I was a kid but NOW it really is quite cheesey and unrelated to the comic.

First of all, Lou is stll a big guy....but a big guy over 50. That picture posted above is from the early 90's when he tried competeing again. He isn't in that kind of shape anymore, so he isn't posing as body double for any character.
Secondly, as for detractors of the show, yes the show was cheese at times..but it was good at times too. As good as any superhero TV show (Smallville anyone?) ...or any TV show from that era in an age where special effects weren't as adavnced. In fact, it was probably the best live action thing Marvel had done all the way up to the Blade movie almost 20 years later. Because of that show, during the late 70's to very early 80's, Hulk was probably the most popular character Marvel had. Consider that.
As for Ferrigno's involvement in the new film.I hope it is only a minor cameo like in the first Hulk film and not something that distracts from the movie.

That's a cool pic, Lou and Stan in a pose down..

The pic is pretty cool but I don't think anyone should be used to play monstrosities like the Abomination. Maybe he is motion capture.... plus the whole comment is suspect even though he could have his hearing aid

True, but he said he couldn't hear him over the noise. That makes me think they were talking normally in the story, as in words spoken from the mouth and received by the ears.

And regarding the claim that he's got a hearing aid (that's impressive that it would make up for an 80% hearing loss), me and a friend actually met him at a fair in 2004 and shook his hand and stuff, but he couldn't understand a word anyone said to him. Someone had to translate back and forth for him with sign language, so I don't know what the deal with that is. Maybe it was just busted at the time.

My parents are deaf, deaf people aren't stupid, a good deal learn how to operate in the hearing world, I'd have to assume Lou has too being an actor and all. So I got say what your saying is bullcrap, especially given his response... What else could he be responding to? As to Lou, I don't depends what they use him for, how they use him, etc...

Lou has a reputation for saying a lot of things that well, frankly aren't true, when he's at these Cons and bodybuilding events. I'll believe this rumor when I see it because I don't believe a damn word he ever says.
