The Dark Knight Michael Jai White Cast in TDK

I guess thats in reference to David Banner....how did you come to the conclusion that he can't act??
I have no idea. Maybe he has the talent. But I'm going on the assumption he doesn't have the acting experience of many others...and the fact I've seen too many awkward performances by rap and pop stars.

Call it prejudism if you will, I'm glad Nolan picked an experienced actor instead.

Nice try. :)
...but I own my own home, and my 'basement' is a fully functional work studio..I make costumes for a living...that means it's my full time job, and I sure, I enjoy costuming on a personal level and dont take myself too seriously because of it...but that's just me. I have fun with it as do many others.
You dont have to feel the same way I or many others do about costuming but no need for sarcasm. If we're posting on the same message boards then chances are we dig superhero's on a generic level. You may read comics for instance, which is cool...I on the other hand havent in over 20 years. Neither of those senarios warrents being frowned upon. It's more about keeping the dream alive and enjoying these films, comics or characters as we all see fit or choose to for ourselves.

Peace.

David

So basically you just didn't know and assumed he couldn't act. It's all right, we won't lambast you. Yet.

Wow this a great casting decision made by Nolan once again.
I'm glad David Banner didn't get this role he can't act.

Not sure but it's supposed to be like the dubbing the old kung fu flicks where every bad guy sounded like that for some reason.

I highly doubt we'll see a fight scene with him in it but that would be pretty awesome to see Bats go toe to toe with someone...Doubt it though since the guy could take on 4 of Ra's' pawns so a street thug with some kung fu isn't gonna be much. It'll be like Bruce's 2nd meeting with Ra's all over again.

This casting news seems to wipe out any doubt that "The Dark Knight" will indeed be focusing on the "freaks vs. gangsters" element, which has always been a highlight of the Batman universe. Since Falcone is out of the picture, it looks like Nolan is definitely having Gotham City break into different "terror cells" - one led by Maroni, another by Gamble, versus the freaks - the Joker's gang, and the Scarecrow's gang.

The Spawn movie was terrible.

Now the HBO cartoon series, well, that was amazing.

Michael did a good job as Tyson. He's the same size and structure...and he resembles him as well.

But he was too small (short, stocky) for Spawn.

If they ever try to do Spawn again, this is the guy for it.

Henry Simmons from NYPD Blue

Agreed

Michael Jai White should have been TV's Blade. Why Goyer chose Kirk Jones, I'll never know.

Has White done anything vaguely gang related I can rent? That Kill Bill clip threw me right off

This is an excellent news. I recently watched Michelle Yeoh's Silverhawk and Michael Jai White was awesome in the movie.

Oh and I just went to SHH! website and the article has disappeared. What's up with that?

Why can't they just make the Gamble character Black Mask.

Black Mask wasn't actually a black guy.

And that's WAY too much story to add into a Joker movie. Plus then you need Catwoman in there to kill him.

He's the leader of a drug ring of crooked cops in Exit Wounds. Not a spectacular movie or anything (unless you like Steven Seagal), but it should give you an idea of his bad guy/gang leader credentials.

Who are you, his agent? We KNOW he's not all that experienced an actor. My assumption is White is a better, more experienced actor. The real judgement has apparently come from Nolan himself.

I'm glad White got the part and not Banner. But I wish they had made him a character from the comic books instead of making up a character like they did with Rachel.

Nolan, there's nearly 7 decades of material on Batman. Surely you can find enough characters and story in there to adapt instead of making other things up and pulling non-comic characters out of nowhere.

It's a minor mob boss role. If Nolan had used a character from the comics for White's role, everyone would inevitably complain that said character was underused.

This is great news. He is a great actor; he just hasn't been in many good projects. He was great in "Thick as Thieves". I was hoping he would land a project where he could really show off his martial arts skills. "Undisputed 2" kind of did, but he mostly boxed in that one. I saw him at an martial arts exhibition a few years ago and he amazed everyone. Me and friends talked about he would be the next big thing, if he could ever get the right part. I'm not sure his part in "The Dark Knight" will require his martial arts expertise, but if it does, I will be one happy camper.:ninja:

Yes, because coming up with new and original ideas is always a bad thing. I mean, hell, any villain created after Bob Kane's death should be discounted. Actually, hell, let's even discount the Joker because he didn't arrive on the scene until 1940. Batman should just have fought the Chemical Syndicate and solved the same case over and over again for 70 years.

Actually, screw it, Batman was just a Superman knock-off, Bob Kane and Bill Finger should never have even created him.

OR... we can assume that new ideas are useful and good. :o
