The Fever!! The Rage!!

Here, Bruce Wayne is trying to make his Batsuit bleed by giving it the stares..........

So much thinking going on:

- Superman just wanted people to treat him as they would another human being. Now he has to deal with a mob of people that views him as both a god and a false god. Relying on him for everything instead of being uplifted by his arrival. This will create an interesting dynamic between being entitled to his own life (as Clark Kent) vs. having to rectify the needs of many.

- Alfred's line seems to suggest that we're dealing with a Batman/Bruce Wayne that has gone off the deep end and resorted to cruel methods to get the job done. Likely as a result of you-know-who's death (assuming it's even canon in the first place). There is an interesting dynamic if this is the case: Superman demonstrates his morality as malleable, but still intact after having already broken one big rule in order to neutralize the threat vs. Batman experiencing a traumatic event in which his morality prevented him from stopping said traumatic event from happening.

I'm getting too excited. Not even Man of Steel's trailers were this challenging.
If Snyder and Terrio can deliver on these promises, then we are in for a real treat. Goddamn...

I literally couldn't facepalm enough from this reaction to the trailer:

With both having to deal with the consequences of their choices and philosophical positions.

yes. the story has so much potential to explore with both characters.

Good read into that. I too am pretty excited about their stories here.

have you by any chance seen he video of Snyder talking about Miller's Superman, particularly that of DKR and how he would do it?

I'm sure I have, but I can't recall exactly what he said.

I really... Look... Sophie's Choice is dark. Grave Of The Fireflies is dark. Hara-Kiri is dark. Chinatown is dark. Network is dark.

MOS, and BvS are simply summer blockbusters with a smattering of somber and seriousness. In the end, they are still about men in funny outfits fighting other men in funny outfits. They can have depth to their tales but... These aren't films about the Holocaust or Slavery... Things don't have to be either or.

I would argue that Snyder's execution of Dr.Manhattan's arc in Watchmen helped him get the job for MOS. While MOS laid the seeds/groundwork for this "God" storyline, BvS is expanding it. Dr.Manhattan's arc is probably the best executed subplot in Watchmen, so I'm excited to see where Snyder goes with this. There are clear similarities (even visual) between BvS and Watchmen the graphic novel.

For example, the soldiers kneeling before Superman remind me greatly of the Vietcong praying to Dr. Manhattan.

:funny: The guy's reaction. It was so out of nowhere.

It would appear he is not adapting TDKR.:oldrazz:

Things were sounding awfully Miller-iffic for a bit though. I think I just needed a glimpse of what he was planning for supes (rather than what he was allegedly not doing despite evidence to the contrary) to put my mind at ease.
