Wonder Woman fighting style!

I have noticed that Wonder Woman is probably the superhero who most wrestles in comics and animation

Hopefully the movie producers will notice that too

It's beautiful to see just for the originality of it. Seeing the same kung-fu styles all the time is kinda boring.

Plus it can favor the lasso/bracelets over the sword/shield, which I want.

A grappling style combat would be an fascinating variation compared to the strike heavy choreography were going to see with Bats and Supes.

Yes! THIS! A sword and shield *may* be necessary for super-powered and invulnerable villains, but it would be great to see Wonder Woman using non-lethal combat moves for other foes.

It's more of a personal combat though, she couldn't take on a lot of enemies at the same time, unless they manage to mix it with another styles and make it work

As for the lasso, I have in my mind the perfect usage for it in combat: she would be against a lot of enemies (like parademons or soldiers or whatever), and she would pass through them making moves that ties the lasso around them, and she would go one by one, and at the end they are all tied together.

And for the JL it would be cool if she teamed up with Flash to use the lasso quickly for some purpose

I like it when Wonder Woman ties an object to the end of her lasso and uses it as a more offensive weapon to take out multiple enemies.

I also like it when she wraps it around her fist/forearm to increase the damage of her punches and to act as a shield of sorts.

There have been a number of cool "trick shots" with the lasso in various Wonder Woman media, particularly the animated JL/JLU series and the solo Wonder Woman film. It would be great if they translated some of those scenes into live action.

How did you guys like the little bits of slo mo fighting we saw?

I hope they're not going to overuse the slowmotion, but it works for shots like this where she's basically doing three different things in superspeed, we'd otherwise miss - catch the thrown bayonet, deflect the guy who threw it and hit the other one with the edge of a shield:

As for the fighting itself, it doesn't show much, but she seems fast and well-trained, as she should be.

This. And she appears quite swift in this shot before the effect, so I don't mind the slo-mo here too. I absolutely love that shot. But we probably could have gone without the shot of her just twirling around to go into that kick (if that was one single shot with no cuts). But the kick was awesome and I don't imagine Jenkins will overuse the slo-mo effect so I'm not worried. Everything about this movie so far has satisfied me and hearing of the direction they're taking makes me happy too. What we've seen and heard of it so far looks promissory of the quality movie to come.

Well....

Suddenly, a wave of Batman fans rush in to say that she's the second best. :oldrazz:
Bats is my number one but WW being the best fighter is absolutely fine with me. I'm ready to see Gal kick ass.

So far what we've seen of the fight choreography looks good, at-least in terms of what seems like the philosophy behind the fights.

I know this movie has not been filming for long so maybe they just showed one take of many, but that shot of WW doing that spin kick looked terrible.

too low and she looks like she's kicking and invisible foe cause the soldier is clearly behind her. So I just hope they have(and use) a different take of that moment where she connects the kick and the guy reacts properly. I'm really nitpicky about fights looking authentic and having that impact.

I want to see Wondy wrassle someone into submission. Really embrace the BDSM origins of her character :p

Who knows if that take will even end up in the film and if it does it may look a lot better after post-production... keep in mind that film is still rather early into the production and footage we've seen is still not at its best.

I'll go one further, I think it's highly possible lots of the footage we've seen may end up through the natural editing process not even part of the final movie.

That's what I think also. It's entirely possible they made some test footage scenes for the early teaser too. They seem to have the right idea, though.
