Power Rangers 4.0 - Part 2

Super excited even though I wish it wasnt a robo rita but....at least I feel like there's a reason for it. The "human" villains always outweighed the costumed monsters.

It looks like Billy is taking the regins of Leadership, again Rocky gets shafted despite being the Red Ranger. Which goes to show anyone can lead it doesn’t have to be the red Ranger. In the series after Jason left, Tommy lead as the White Ranger.

Considering Rocky never lead, dont know why he would now. Even Kim was basically 2nd in command once the newbies came in.

Not a fan of them actually killing off Trini in the special. Feels kinda gross to me. But, everything else looks good. The CG Zords are actually looking good. Not sure how the green ranger figures into this yet.

Yeah I definitely feel a little icky about what they’re doing with Trini/Thuy here. Wish they had thought of something different.

Daizyujin in CGI looking nice!
Hope Dragon Caesar will appear, too.

And looking at the silhouette from the poster above, I thought the villain will be Baranoia Emperor (from Ohranger/Zeo), given the mecha face...but it is Rita after all, haha.

I will definitely check this out!

Very excited to watch this. Surprised that they are allowing RoboRita to officially kill Trini and use the word "kill" so many times.

Kudos to bringing back the OG voice actress.

Outside of recasting there isnt much to do with Trini so I think this is the best way to honor her. Going down a hero after all these years, living a full life and passing the mantle onto her daughter.

Does the Power Rangers never had any of their members killed or die in the main series?

I mean, Sentai does it all the time.
Even in Zyuranger, Burai (Dragon/Green Ranger) die near the end of the series.
Abaranger (2003), and looking back at Bioman (1984), and Battle Fever J (1979) each were also had a member killed (and replaced) in the middle of the series (in Abaranger's, at the last episode)..
so in Sentai, a member died/killed is nothing new.

Might just be editing in the trailer but they seem to be showing robo-Rita kill her onscreen. I wouldn’t have wanted them to recast her either but maybe there was a way to be a little more sensitive about her death.

I’m also wondering who’s underneath the green ranger suit.

I think Kendrix from Lost Galaxy is the only ranger to have done that. Boy did that wreck me. She did come back in the finale though. There have been some fakeouts I think but no actual deaths apart from that.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels uncomfortable about them killing off Trini like this. By comparison, in Wakanda Forever T'Challa passed on the same way that Chadwick Boseman did so it at least felt more respectful. If T'Challa had been killed in battle it would have been in poor taste. This just feels like the wrong way to go with it.

Of course im happy to have them all back and gladly accept the costumes. I do wish they had given them slightly updated modified ones...

It's a different scenario here because Thuy Trang died in real life.

I wonder how they're going to address Tommy in this...?

Apparently all the Rangers are transformed into miniature figures except for our OG’s . Similar to Super MegaForce Ranger keys.

They probably won't. This was filmed long before his passing. If anything they'll dedicate the episode to him and Thuy

Ooooh i didnt know that! I assumed this was filmed fairly recently post his passing. So Jason David Frank was never going to be a part of this anyway then?

he declined. He was busy filming LOTWD and couldn’t fly to New Zealand for the shoot.

Yeah everyone was invited but turned it down for various reasons.
