Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

I just watched, in my BTVS rewatch, Faith's return in season 4 of Buffy, and realized that in her comeback episode(415) they gave us a big hint what is about to come in season 5.
I never realized they planned it so far ahead. I'll assume at this point they already knew they gonna have a season 5.

Supposedly Whedon had S5 planned when writing the S3 finale. I think he even put tiny drops of foreshadowing of it in the first Faith/Buffy shared coma dream. I think it was the clock with the countdown numbers?

I started rewatching BTVS and i have to say - I'm only on season 2, but, damn.... the number of plot holes i run into, already is quite astonishing. I didn't remember it was like that so early in the series.

I think it was the writers on S1 and S2 that had something to do with it. S1 has some weird tonal shifts that doesn’t really smooth out until “Prophecy Girl”. Introducing characters like Spike and Drusilla in S2 increases the plot holes but S2 ends strongly.

That said, a lot of S1/S2 writers left. Most of the ones that came on in S3 stayed through the end of the series.

I realized it with Faith's line during the first shared coma dream, when she said something about an arriving of the little sister.

Yeah there's the 7-3-0 countdown to Buffy's death in the season 3 finale. And a bunch of references to Dawn. Tara outright tells Buffy to 'be back before Dawn' in her dream in Restless. The 'little miss muffet' line is paid off in 5x02 when a crazy guy calls Dawn the curds and whey.

There's a few things seeded in advance, though it seems season 5 was the peak, and not much was planned beyond that.

As I watch a YT review about Dawn, I am reminded once again how I never really liked how she was just "normal" after S5. No real supernatural things happening to her, no exploring her ability to open gates to other dimensions.

They just made her annoying in season 6. She could’ve been much more

You didn't like the fake out in Season 7. :o

Oh please happen....

Guillermo aspired to become a vampire and made his own wish come true, but “finding out that he’s a Van Helsing is kind of a throwing a wrench in it. It’s just like, ‘But…’ And he’s really good at it, accidentally really great at being this vampire killer. I mean, ‘Buffy who?’”

Guillén suddenly blanched.

“No, don’t tell her that,” he said. “Please don’t tell her. We’re trying to get Sarah Michelle Gellar. Please. No, no, no. I would love for Buffy to come on the show…I think it’d be great if she would come and help Guillermo.”

Looks like Charisma unfollowed J August Richards following him inviting Joss to his wedding.

That's messy. Happy for J. August and his wedding though.

Yeah I haven’t listened to an audiobook in years but I will definitely check this out. Love seeing Charisma on board. :hrt:

Umm guys…

Had no idea this was in the works.

Im 50/50

Yay for Buffy content that isn't a comic book.

Yay for more Cordelia content.

Yay for most of the cast reuniting.

Meh at Spike being the lead character.

Mild meh being an audio drama BUT this gives me a reason to listen to that genre. I know that DW has been successful with it.

I’m not too hot about a Spike-centric story, but hey, it’s going to have a parallel universe where Cordy is a slayer, so it has my curiosity lol.

But seriously, Disney should do so much more with this franchise. So many different stories you can tell.
