Abuse of Power Thread (Cops, Governments, Etc.) - Part 2

I would say those school employees failed in their most basic duties of education and protection of students.

And they whine how they are no longer allowed to abuse the law so they quit. Not being police, just being in this particular detail. They still want to abuse their power but want to make a show of how they won't take being held accountable as if the people they abuse are going to beg them to come back.

"For the children..." laws only do so much when they are crafted so poorly and with so little regard to when the children are actually both the victim and perpetrator against their abuser.

The law failed her. Many times.

UK Policeman found guilty of manslaughter in the case of ex-professional soccer player Dalian Atkinson who was having a mental health crisis.

The cop kicked him in the head twice while he was on the ground and tasered him for 33 seconds (the average taser time is 5 seconds).
His partner beat Atkinson with a baton and is facing assault charges.

Dalian Atkinson’s family say five-year wait for trial was ‘unacceptable’

22.5 years for Chauvin.

Not so much as abuse of power, but such god damn showing of extreme incompetence by the LAPD.

EDIT: Aaaand the LAPD are now ready to beat anyone upset they nearly blew up a city block.

That is insane for more ways than one.

This is just a disgusting failure to protect and serve.

Yeah, remember when the LAPD blew up a neighborhood block? Turns out its because the officers didn't actually weigh the fireworks they loaded into the truck. So, what they thought was 16 pounds, was actually 42 pounds.

And their answer to injuring 17 people? "Sorry, our bad".
