We are Ares (god of war) and Medusa (underworld deity of hypnosis), and we're the keepers of the flame of social deification, or in other words, the 'idea' of celebrated excellence, be it in the heavens or in hades. We're skilled at coordinating the 'Ronin' of civilization political intrigue, or the underground 'infiltrators' or 'GI Joes' or 'ninjas' of capitalism choreography. We represent the very best of socialized distances regarding the aesthetics of divinity, dollars, and danger!

We're in Arles (France) coordinating the activities of a group of these underground deity-infiltrators/ninjas or 'GI Joes' investigating blood-diamond piracy highways corrupting gem-markets and merchant-stores and banks and are therefore investigating everything from art-heists to terrorism-linked rogue financing linked to various anti-civilization groups like the hideous Cobra. Arles is very picturesque and inspires artworks but can also veil forms of invisible evil or danger!

As the 'GI Joes' immerse themselves in some off-road racing, tied to terrorism-subversions against Cobra, we (Ares/Medusa) are watching from the sidelines to measure the speed/danger of these car-chase scenes, and they're right out of the storybooks, and that's why Arles is suddenly colored in the 21st Century by inventive forms of diamond intrigue and road-disasters!

Now, the 'Ronin' we work with and complement are master-ninjas of the global political-capitalism landscape, and they're subverting gem-piracy highways linked to rogue political financing of terrible regime-visions, perhaps some even wed to chemical weapons development(s). We're taking images of the Ronin in car-chases (the good 'GI Joes') as they negotiate how to preserve the road-sanity of Arles (France) while we compose the Decameron, the book of notations characterizing the generalized intrigue of modern political-corruption queries. This takes great skill in terms of choreographed teamwork!

ARES: There was a 'vision' that was the great panoply of gods/deities, but we defend the simple monument.
MEDUSA: It's a matter of history to maintain the 'classical' structures of defense of social artistry!

Rome burnt under the hand of insane Emperors, but Arles (France) will not crumble to ashes under the weight of blood-diamond hellmouths, thanks to the Ronin or GI Joes who facilitate a rather global imagination about the basic/simply preservation of civilization hallmarks, like the colosseums of sports, music, science, and commerce!

MEDUSA: Without attention to the 'details' of custom, we can't fight for the expressions of storytelling.

You might critique that our work is generalized ministry of civilization standards, but in fact, we're seeking to uphold the basic social distances involved with everyday human living, or in other words, the living 'face' of normative intelligence. It's what separates us from the germs and weeds and leviathan of Creation --- the re-presentation of custom-design!

Ares and Medusa are now challenged by two superhumans who've decided to become adversaries in this axis of civilization. The two adversaries are Plastic-Man and Victoria, now messengers of the 'vanity' of indulgent fashion. They'd argue fashion is a tool for the aestheticization of capitalism, while Ares/Medusa maintain their conviction that capitalism is a method for socialized chemistry. It's difficult to say who's really speaking an 'absolute truth' because capitalism does proliferate through society through branches of fashion-rationale, while the chemistry of capitalism continues to stabilize its dynamic customs-politics. Of course capitalism isn't just politics --- it's also lifestyle (and hence fashion!). However, Ares/Medusa seek to promote the 'arms' of capitalism as technologies of differentiation rather than a complete 'streamlining' of the social 'imagination' behind capitalism's 'dress' face! In other words, what we see here is a nice contouring of the basic complexity-theory of living capitalism systems in a 'classical' intuition --- the accessibility of deep-thinking regarding its 'demo' marketability. That's why Plastic-Man/Victoria have successfully been 'wed' to the distancing-dialogue surrounding capitalism's destiny, and it's why we're expanding our Ares/Medusa diorama to include a nice re-presentation of socialized...drama. Isn't that what free-market expression yields for the masses (dichotomy)? Hail to the chiefs of dunes!

Acid-Rain


One quick addendum about the 'morality-fables' linked to modern eco-consciousness which seems arguably to 'nicely fit' into our modern storytelling landscape of dilemma-themed distancing (e.g., Erin Brockovich). Enjoy!

Hydro-Man wanted to offer a very different kind of stimulus to this world-activism equation incited by Ares/Medusa. You see, Hydro-Man was focusing purely on eco-matters, delivering the paranoia-message that the modern civilization/industrialization problem of 'acid-rain' (manmade eco-waste linked condensation corruption creating acid-pH levels in rainfall on Earth!) was a clear sign of the deformation of the chemical signature of natural particle composition. Hydro-Man charged/accused Ares and Medusa with creating too much 'proactive optimism' on a planet 'scarred' by the ugly water-problem of acid-rain. It didn't matter to Ares/Medusa that Hydro-Man was composed entirely of water-molecules, a shape-shifting chameleon of terrorism! All they knew was that if Hydro-Man 'persuaded' mankind that acid-rain was an irreversible sign of evil, cynicism would reign and all vestiges of 'dollar' idealism...would vanish.
