Behold, the dumbest Sonic game ever

A great (new release) game that doesn't cost 50-60 bucks?! I'm sold! (my Wal-Mart had it for 34.50...the price of a DS game!)

So far the only flaw to this game is lack of Ristar as a character. And it really does remind me of Diddy Kong Racing in terms of difficulty. It is hard coming in 1st place all the time, especially when you don'y know the courses by heart, but its one of those games where "yeah, it can be very hard, but I can't seem to quit you, video game".

I actually might pick this up. Sega actually having good games? (This & AVP) I'm shocked! Maybe there's hope for Iron Man 2 game afterall!

I bought itf for the PS3 tonight and I friggin LOVE it! Just beat the first cup with Shadow and man it was great fun, the Casino track was probably my favorite one so far.

It's very "Mario Kart" but Mario Kart in a good way, I'll go as far to say that it's even better then Mario Kart: Double Dash AND Mario Kart Wii. My wife is going to go bonkers over this, she LOVES a good kart racer...as a matter of fact they're the only real game she plays.

Also, if you do the practice run (do it, you get a trophy/achievement) when Sonic's finished he goes "Hey, this car is ALMOST as fast as I am." I thought it was pretty funny, and yeah...Sonic in a car kinda makes it "fair."

Anyway, great fun...but yeah...the amount of hate for this originally = fanboy fail.

In an interview, the team even admitted that Sonic originally was going to race on foot but because of these factors:

1) The scale and model of Sonic without a car compared to the vehicle driver characters made Sonic look awkward

2) Sonic using certain power-ups (firing bombs from his ass instead of from the back of a car for instance...ok, that's mostly in my own words)

They decided to go with everyone in vehicles. I mean, its a Kart racing game...will it really kill anyone to restrict Sonic to a Kart in a Kart racing game?

ive got this too and its great..ive got it for pc and ps3 so i can play it if my girlfriend is watching telly on the pc or if i have the tv to myself on ps3!
its really good..my only vice is that i wish it was just sonic characters alone.

I may actually have to try this game out with all the good reviews. A friend of mine is buying it soley for the Shenmue characters. He's been on a crusade for a Shenmue 3 for years now.

the problem is no one cares about Sonic's little sideckicks. With the exception of Knuckles, Tails, Robotnik and Amy, the rest are laregely forgettable. The biggest complaint of the past Sonic games the overuse of the mascots and never developed into popular characters which validated their appearances. Sega did a good thing by having this featuring a range of their franchises rather than simply Sonic. Even so, Ive read some complain that theres too much Sonic characters in this one and Sega should have put more characters from other games in this bc they still have several which werent represented.
