Best Comic Book Movies Not About Superheroes

Ghost World is a wonderful example of a non-hero-based graphic novel turned into a fantastic film. And it introduced most of us to the beautiful and talented Steve Buscemi Scarlett Johansson.

So many movies I need to watch now. My favorites are A History of Violence and Road to Perdition. Heavy Metal and 300 are pretty high up there too.

Dredd is a movie I watch twice a year at least. Sometimes twice in September alone.

Hopefully The Kitchen coming out in August will make this list.

Akira and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Oldboy (2003) is my favorite. But I also really liked History of Violence, 300, Sin City, Dredd (and Judge Dredd).

Crow, I think, doesn't fit, because he's definitely super-powered.

Hmmm Road to Perdition for the more serious fare.

Dredd because... well, its ****ing awesome (although I'd have liked to have seen a bit more surrealist satire)
