Lets talk about the fantastic Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series here starring the awesome Kyle Katarn! Consisting of:

Star Wars Dark Forces
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (and its expansion Mysteries of the Sith)
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

The only title I have yet to play is Dark Forces II and its expansion but my personal favorite is the original Dark Forces.

Love every single game in the series. My favorites are Dark Forces II for the story and the live action cut scenes (Jason Court, although mostly having done soft porn Red Shoe Diaries stuff, was an amazing Katarn, and made the character maybe my fave EU one) and Jedi Academy for the awesome fights and various lightsaber styles. High replayability factor, higher than Force Unleashed, imo (also a brilliant game, though).

God I love this series. I had well over 5 gigs of custom content for Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy.

Love it. Kyle Katarn is the Chuck Norris of Star Wars. He has a lightsaber in that beard. Kyle Katarn doesn't turn to the dark side, the dark side turns to Kyle Katarn.

Jedi Knight was one of my very first PC games and I love it still, the sequels are marvelous as well but I have only played a demo of the first Dark Forces.

I've been playing through these recently. The early ones don't hold up very well, but still a great series.

i would love a new Dark Forces game

there were so many great Star Wars game released in the 90s. i really wish Lucasarts would make sequels to games such as Dark Forces, Rogue Squadron, Rebel Assault, etc.

imagine how awesome they would play on PS3 or XB360

Isn't JK2 and JAcademy playable on the 360? They were both on Xbox.

Jedi Knight is almost impossible to play now... graphics are horrid. It was awesome back in the day though. And nothing beats those live action cutscenes.

I haven't tried JK2 yet, but I know Academy is. From what I've read, Academy is the only one thats compatible.

I've played Dark Forces 2, Mysteries of the Sith, and Outcast. My favorite has to be Dark Forces 2. I enjoyed being a lone Jedi outnumbered by what, five or six dark Jedi? It made for an epic journey fighting those guys.

I remember going to Gamestop months after Mysteries of the Sith came out and I asked the employee if they had a copy. His exact words were, "it game doesn't exist." So I borrowed and beat a game that doesn't exist? LOL.

I'd like a remake for consoles and the same for KOTOR.

lol. A couple years ago (before smart phones) I went into a guitar center looking to buy a particular wah pedal, after researching it on the companies website. When I asked if they had any in stock, the smug manager said that he "knew everything there is to know about effects pedals and that pedal didn't exist" and refused to listen when I told him I had JUST saw it on their own website. I left, bought it from another store and took it back to show it to the smug jerk. He demanded that I leave. :whatever:

As for dark forces, I played the hell out of the first one when I was a kid. I only played the second one once, but really enjoyed it. I remember being in awe when I got a light saber. I actually downloaded the first one onto my ps3 recently, but it felt so ancient that I didn't even finish the first level.

I'd love to see a sequel or similar Star Wars FPS come out these days. Hell, a sequel o Rogue Squadron would be amazing to. Can ou imagine doing the Death Star trench run with today's graphics? *drool*

I loved these games. Kyle Katarn is my favorite Star Wars character.

Helped that Jason Court played him very well in JK.

What? I thought it was Chuck Norris :cwink:

Just started Jedi Outcast after getting the double pack of that and Academy for PS4. Never played them before, and the controls for Outcast are terrible, yet I can't stop playing it.
