Hey, I just wanted to restart a tread I remember from some time ago where members could post their fantasy actor from any decade for either marvel or DC movies roles. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I'll start.

1940's

DC:
Superman: Gary Cooper

Batman: Tyrone Power or Gregory Peck

Marvel:
The Kingpin: Sidney Greenstreet (Do you think this should count since the Kingpin wouldn't even be created for about another 20 years?)

70's Daredevil:

Daredevil - Robert Redford
Bullseye - Robert De Niro
Kingpin - Telly Savalas

Directed by Martin Scorsese

70's Avengers
Captain America = young Robert Redford.

Antman = Paul Newman

Hulk = ?

Iron Man = Al Pacino, people probably won't like that but I loved him in his old movies.

how could you not think of someone in the 70's to play the hulk, the obvious choice would be Bill Bixby.

70s

Elijah Snow - Patrick McGoohan
Hal Jordan - Paul Newman
Captain America - Steve McQueen
Lois Lane - Tyne Daly
Jonah Hex - Clint Eastwood

50s
Wesley Dodds - Jimmy Stewart

90's
Lois Lane: Paige Turco

The Joker: Gary Oldman?

80's
Iron Man: Tom Selleck?

70's
Perry White: Edward Asner

Wolverine: Clint Eastwood

The Punisher: Robert Blake? lol

James Gordon: Hal Linden (Barney Miller)

The Joker: Malcolm McDowell (putting on an American accent of course)

60's
Lex Luthor or Charles Xavier ( I think both of them could do either of these roles along with having the look for them): Yul Brynner? or Donald Pleasance?

Superman: Paul Newman?

The Punisher: Charles Bronson? (Again, do you think it should be open in this thread to cast actors from certain decades to play certain characters who had not yet been created at the time?)

50's
Reed Richards or Jor-El: Michael Rennie? (Klaatu from The Day the Earth Stood Still)

40's
Lois Lane: Katharine Hepburn?

mid 80's X-Men Cast
Wolverine: Jack Nicholson
Storm: Pam Grier
Cyclops: Harrison Ford
Jean Grey: Sigorney Weaver
Professor X: hmmmm...?
Magneto: Sean Connery

Directed by James Cameron

mid 90's X-Men cast
Woverine: Russell Crow
Storm: Angela Bassett
Cyclops: Tom Cruise
Jean Grey: Gillian Anderson
Professor X: Patrick Stewart
Magneto:Sean Connery
Mystique: Lucy Lawless

Directed by Steven Spilberg

I know...duh?:oldrazz:

I like the Clint for Wolvie or Jonah Hex thing. Hugh and Clint kinda look alike anyways.

mid 80's X-Men Cast
Wolverine: Jack Nicholson
I would rather Jack play Wolverine in the 70's (if at all) than the 80's. By the 80's I think Jack was too old for the part. True, Wolverine is like 100 years old, but most of the time he looks no older than 40.

Harvey Keitel would have been an amazing Wolverine around 1980. The same goes for Robert De Niro. Also, bit of trivia: John Byrne based his physical appearance of Logan on Paul D'Amato.

Harvey:

80's Batman (the fact that the cast is basically the best of B:TAS and B89 pieced together. B:TAS had such awesome casting!)

Bruce Wayne/ Batman: Kevin Conroy

Alfred: Michael Gough

James Gordon: ??

The Joker: Jack Nicholson

Catwoman: Adrienne Barbeau

90's Avengers:

Captain America - Brad Pitt
Iron Man - Timothy Dalton
Thor - Vladmir Kulich
Hulk - Steve Buscemi
Hank Pym - David Duchovny
Wasp - Carla Gugino
Black Widow - Izabella Scorupco

Superman: Christopher Reeve (late 70's)
Batman: Alec Baldwin (early 90's)
Wonder Woman: Lynda Carter (mid 70's)
Green Lantern: Paul Newman (mid 70's)
Flash: Steve McQueen (mid 60's)
Aquaman: Kiefer Sutherland (late 80's)
Martian Manhunter: James Earl Jones (mid 80's)

Maybe your right and he would be best as him in 70ish version but then again was The Joker really supposed to be like twenty years older than batman like he was in the first movie? I think if I had to choose between him as Logan (with make-up and a wig and a lot of working out) or him as The Joker in the first Batman there would be no question as to which roles he is more suited for.

Mid 80's Big Easy era Dennis Quaid would've been the best choice for Hal jordan and mid 90's Gary Oldman would've been an absolutely PERFECT Spider Jerusalem... Too bad both are too old these days...

Lawrence Fishburne in the early 90's would have been a perfect John Stewart

Arsenio? No. Ernie? Hell yes!

Sean Penn as Justin Hammer
Too young

Mako as Mandrin

Nice. Another good choice for Mandarin in the '80s might be James Hong (Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China)

Ted Danson as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
Interesting choice.

Jenny Garth as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman

Hell no. Besides even if she was the right choice (she's not IMO), she was too young in the '80s

Stacy Keach as Ben Grimn/Thing

Interesting Choice

Emillio Estavez as Johnny Storm/Human Torch II

No thanks.

Tracy Gold as Kitty Pryde

King Kong Bundy as The Blob

Vincent D'Onofirio as Thor

Ernie Hudson as Jim Rhodes

Mako as Mandrin

I really like these choices :).

From the 80's/90's era:

Dolph Lungren as Collosus

Sylvester Stallone as The Punisher

Paul Anthony (Stab From "House Party") as Bishop

Charles Dance (The Golden Child) as Mr. Sinister

Crispin Glover as Morph

Michael J. Fox in the 80's would have been a perfect Peter Parker, and Matt Dillion would have Harry Osborn. Another good choice for Peter Parker in the 80's would have been Anthony Michael Hall (but when he was in Weird Science, and he would definitely need a dye job)
