They say a list of the greatest movies is a reflection of its voters. If so, twenty or thirty years from now when we're old and the so-called experts which films do you expect to be on the list?

Also, try not to include stuff that are already considered one of the greatest movies. Include something that the people who are currently making these lists don't consider a masterpiece, but our generation does.

Well, anyway, here's some films I wouldn't be surprised to see on a list 20 or 30 years from now:

I could imagine Casino Royale being the 21st centuries Goldfinger or From Russia With Love.

Sort of. I've been a fan of the film since it was released in 1993 and every year the fan base is larger. I guess it could already be considered a classic, but I'm curious to see how big it gets.

Same here, but I see where he is coming from with BTTF. I don't recall the film being of AFI's 100 Best movies unless its in the music category or something. In 20 years I think Back to the Future will be much higher on the list.

Maybe.

Too soon to tell, but it's definitly a great film and Bond fans will always rank it high.

Maybe. People always belittle animated films, which I hate, to be honest. I think animation should be equal to live-action. But, you get those AFI lists and barely on animation on it.

Rather than requiem for a dream, Pi and the Fountain :)

I think Brick could become a big cult classic, It's far superior to Donnie Darko and it's only a matter of time!

I've never seen Brick, but now I'm interested.

I am not able to do the picture thing but i can tell you what 10 films that will be future classics.

1 Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope- Face it this movie will be a classic in all generations time.

2 Lord OF The Rings Trilogy- Its this era's episode 4,5, and 6 of star wars. It will stand alot longer then people think. It will be know as the film that said fantasy can be good again.

3 Pirates Of The Caribbean The Curse Of The Black Pearl- This movie braught back pirate films and likely could have started a great Saga for disney. Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp is a character that will be as classic as Han Solo one day.

4 Saving Private Ryan- This here will be the classic of the type of war pictures like The Longest Day and Flying Leathernecks were and still are.

5 Batman Begins- This will be mY only Comic i shall list. Its style and look is why this will be a classic like Batman the first film has been. We have just seen the begining of Chris Nolans brilliance as a director.

6 The Fugative- The best Harrison Ford/ Tommy Lee Jones movie by far. A truly great film that i deem already a classic but should be seen more often.

7 The Departed- This will be the one film out of 2006 that will still be played years to come. Its cast will be an iconic one for future movie watchers. However the movie viewing ituation turns out.

8 Apollo 11- Ron Howard best film. There is no denying that this is one of Tom Hanks best movies and he's had many.

9 Unforgiven- Clint Eastwoods best films and the last truly good western in my book. Even though many films have came after it.

10 Dram Stokers Dracula. Great Oldman Classic.

1 Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope- Face it this movie will be a classic in all generations time.

The movie is already a classic. It's been in a bunch of those AFI lists. The point of the thread is list films which aren't currently listed among the greats but in 20-30 years will be because we'll be the old dudes making the lists.

Every year this movie becomes more and more popular. I wouldn't be surprised if 20-30 yrs from now it was considered one of the top ten greatest movies of all-time.

That already IS a classic. And considered amongst the best movies ever...

Agreed, but the purpose of the thread is to name films that'll be in AFI-type lists 30 years from now when we're the old farts making the lists. Nowadays The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly only appears in lists that have to do with westerns. I've never seen it in a general list.
