Help fund the Angry Video Game Nerd Movie

I think that he should avoid the investor route and whatever is left after making the film should go to a charity.

No, he shouldn't. The money was donated by fans to him for this project. If he has any left over (which he probably won't), then he should just use it to fund his AVGN and other work. If I gave him money and he ended up donating the rest to a charity I didn't support, I wouldn't be happy.

Yes. Why help people in desperate need when there's more AVGN movies to make? :whatever:

Surely, there's a charity that everyone supports like the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. (I'm sure some mouthbreather will inform me those are socialist ponzi schemes or something)

I did some quick browsing through that site and his project is, by far, the most successful.

I was shocked to learn that they were different guys. Strongly dislike both of them.

Not surprised. Sense of humor is required ;)

Don't care for the AVGN or TGWTG communities, RedLetterMedia is more my cup of tea. And even if I did enjoy their stuff I'd never donate to them for some silly movie.

Urgh, I hate RedLetterMedia. His reviews are intelligent but his sense of humor is just a bit too sick and disturbing.

I prefer Nostalgia Critic, i just find him funier

I agree. The Video Game Nerd hasn't been funny in years. Ever since he stopped relying on actually witty and funny dialogue and started relying on badly written scenarios where various characters either come in and a.) get into a fight with James or b.) defecate in one way or another. I haven't watched him in a while, but I remember the slow transition to crappines his videos took. The Ghostbusters one was probably his peak.

Some of his videos are hit and miss, but I don't think he's ever lost his wit. He still makes me laugh.

And they're also interesting to watch. From a historical perspective, from an information perspective, there's a lot of info in his vids.

There's been LOADS of great episodes since his Ghostbusters videos.

Game glitches
Cheetahmen
Action 52
Ninja Gaiden (one of the best)
Street Fighter 2010
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker

I'm leaving out a whole bunch.

Honestly, the vast majority of videos after Ghostbusters, are good. I could take all day naming and talking about them.

I made the Captain America **** YEAH trailer. Give me 100,000 grand to fund the making of the next one. :o

I think he's great in a lot of other videos. The nerd character is fun but I actually get more enjoyment out of the other stuff. The only thing I don't really bother watching is the horror movies he made as a kid. The video about the haunted house he ran as a kid was awesome though.

I cam back to this thread because I watched his 'inspector gadget' series review today. It almost makes me pissed they screwed that movie up.

Very good point, I completely agree with you. His Cinemassacre stuff is much better than a lot of his Nerd videos.

26 days left in the fundraiser and so far they have raised almost $204,500. Again, the goal was $75,000.

I think Stoklasa went a bit too far in his Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull review, but Plinkett being extremely demented is what really works for the character. You just have no idea what to expect and keeps your attention.

Redlettermedia is the best. His humor is hilarious. Dark Comedy is underused because everyone gets all offended.

I laughed so hard when he said "Sometimes I **** my cat". :hehe:

The fundraiser is over now and they raised $326,000 out of a $75,000 goal.

He should throw his own money into it, but noooooooooo.

I hope the people who donated get a Producer credit of some sort. Exec Producer I imagine...even though Producer's I believe are the ones who front the money...may be wrong. Exec Producer's have *some* power during filming. Maybe the peeps who donated be associate producers?

Back me up on this Double H.
