How would you do it! - DC Edition - ©Anubis

I kind of feel like the Yellow ring's powers should be entirely psychic in nature. Like, they absorb, project, and manipulate all information around them, so they can read minds, project thoughts and images into other minds, and glean information about the past, present, and possible futures. The reason that's fear-based is because only a highly paranoid and obsessive mind could process all that information.

Heres my idea for A Wonder Woman reboot/reinvisioning:.
10 years ago,the Greek gods returned to the world and established evil dictatorships over certain countries and used their powers to isolate the countries fom the rest of the world.
Now the Gods have begun to make a move again to take over all of earth. The UN sends forth military troops into the countries the Gods are ruling (I call them the Godlands) armed with advanced technological weapons with the intention of freeing this countries from the Gods evil rule.

Steve trevor is one of the Leading soldiers on the UN side involved in the war.During one of the battles in the Godlands,he crashlands into mysterious island of Themyscira ,home of Amazons. The Amazons are not on the gods side but do not fight against them out of fear.Steve however meets Diana, the Amazon princess who is tired of the evil gods and the suffering of mankind under their rule. She decides to disobey Amazon law and help Steve and the UN forces in the battle against the gods. She is nicknamed Wonderwoman by the troops.

The WW comic series will be telling the story of the war for freedom from the gods-The comics will very much be Warcomics with greek fantasy aspects,,with WW being the war hero that will lead the UN to victory.Over the course of the series WW will finally convince the amazons to aid in the war.We also see WW incite the people of the Godlands to rise against their oppressors.Later, later on in the series I think it would be cool to throw in other gods of mythology not just greek.

Superheroes will not be able to help WW in the Godland wars because I envison the gods invoking magical barriers stopping them form entering the Godlands. So its basically Wonderwoman fighting the gods with the help of the UN.

I also had the idea that WW powers be revamped a bit.Namely the Lasso power.I would change it that WW is actually able to magically summon two Golden lassos in each hand. They have the power to burn what they touch. She wields them very much like Whiplash uses whips or the way John Carter used Chains in his movie.
Another power I wanted WW to have is the ability to project certain emotions into the minds of certain people-namely the emotion of fear and calmness.Of course there are limits to how this ability is used.

I also need to clarify not all gods are evil. Some will disagree with the evil rule.In fact WW gets her powers from some good gods like Athena,Hephaestus. But I envision the King gods -Zeus,Poisedon,Hades to be sort of evil if we are being true to their characters in mythology. They will beleive humans are made to serve them and believe it is their right to rule over humans.

Seems a bit extreme. Doesn't work in the whole shared universe deal.

Interesting Elseworlds though.

Interesting Elseworlds though.
Cant see why not.I mean if atlantis can exist in DCU,i see no reason "Godlands" cant.

But all that's going on, and that's like year long event territory, what's superman doing? Or batman? That whole thing drastically changes the scope of the entire dcu.

So, what would all the pagan gods from other religions be doing during this whole thing? I mean, I can get them not being too concerned with human wars, but I doubt Odin would look upon Zeus becoming a third world dictator and just shrug his shoulders at it. Wether or not they side with Zeus, it seems to me that all manner of supernatural beings would get involved, not just Greek ones.

All in all, though, I'm not super-keen on the idea. For starters, I think supernatural beings are more interesting when they're influence on the world is more subtle than that. And, also, I just don't really see why Zeus would want to rule the world. He always seemed like he was content as long as he could party hard and bone chicks.

Also, the power changes to Diana... kind of sounds like she;s being turned into Kratos from God of War.

And as to what Anubis said, immortal super powered magical dictators would be the concern of the entire DCU. Even if non Olympian empowered supers can't get in, you'd still have the entire non powered hero community, and a huge chunk of the villain community, working as spies and infantry. Like, this is the kind of thing Batman would be willing to leave Gotham for. And the UN woul be using the non Olympian empowered supers as a sort of nuclear deterrent to keep Zeus and his ilk from expanding their borders.

Just a small idea, but a fun one I think.
In the old Adam West Batman series he and Gordon kept in touch with a red phone:

Back then Batman worked more with the law, and I think was even an honorary member of the GCPD.
Of Coarse now its different, he is secretly in league with Gordon and they secretly keep in touch.
I think it would be cool if they had a secret cell phone to contact one another. One they only use for this,
and one no one else knows about except Batman's family. It would be one of those untraceable, off the
books, disposable cell phone dealies. Batman wouldn't connect it to his Batmobile or anything like that,
just keep it in his utility belt. Gordon would keep it in his shirt pocket. Their numbers wouldn't be
preprogrammed either. And I guess they would be phones they could only use once. Then they would
have to scrub the phone and get rid of it and replace it with another phone. But the stories would go into
that part much.

at the time i wrote this the pictures were of Batman and Gordon and their red phones. And the other
picture was of a red cell phone. If they change let me know and I will fix it.

That's f**king stupid. :o

Nah, I'm just kiddin'.

I wish they'd bring back/use Chief O'Hara. But I guess Bullock's kinda taken his spot.

I think it would be neat having O'Hara show up in the comic books

I've been rewatching the old Batman show lately and its a lot of fun :)

Well there are various ways in which this cld be dealt with.Either say that Zeus somehow found a way to magically bar all pagan gods from interering with his territory.Or say that all pagan gods are still asleep and havent awakened in modern day era.

And, also, I just don't really see why Zeus would want to rule the world. He always seemed like he was content as long as he could party hard and bone chicks.
Really?Zeus loves power not just chicks-He loves being the boss-hes an arrogant, son of a biatch. If we are being true to zeus character in myths him wanting to always be worshipped fits perectly with his acharacter and he is the kind o guy to force out worship if necessary.
Also, the power changes to Diana... kind of sounds like she;s being turned into Kratos from God of War.
Okay I see your piont here

And as to what Anubis said, immortal super powered magical dictators would be the concern of the entire DCU.
Exactly.Which is why i think its a great idea.wed essentially have Wonderwoman being the only hope against something that concerns the entire dcu-it pushes Wonderwoman to forefront o the Dc universe.

Even if non Olympian empowered supers can't get in, you'd still have the entire non powered hero community, and a huge chunk of the villain community, working as spies and infantry. Like, this is the kind of thing Batman would be willing to leave Gotham for.
Again this can be explained easily.Simply say that Zeus is somehow able to magically bar all heroes-powered or not from inteferering-or evn steppig foot in his lands.Same goes for supervillains.Wonderwoman is the only superhero who is immune to this enhantment. The God lands become WW operating territory, just like Bats has gotham to operate in,and Supes has metropolis. Her comics become war comics about WWs fight for freedom of the God lands.I picture some WW stories will involve WW trying to break this barrier but failing for one reason or the other

I need to clarify when I say that the Greek gods become dictators-I sont mean in it in a saddam-hussein kinda manner. What i mean is that the gods takes over certain lands and force them to worship themlike they did in the old.It will basically like in greek myths where gods rum rampant doing all manners of shi* and chaos with no one daring to oppose them.I dont mean that zeus sets up an oval office-thats just silly.

Wait, so if Batman's kept out of the Godlands how come the Marines Diana's working with aren't? I mean, individual skill level and dress sense aside, there's not much difference between Batman and Marines. Why would Zeus create a magical barrier that would keep all of Earth's super heroes out but allow the United States Marine Corps in?

I would make a few changes to Starfire’s origins.
Firstly, I would remain her status in RHATO #1 but with a few changes.

Also, that her true love is actually Roy and that she fell out with Roy because Roy cheated on her with Cheshire. So ever since he has really been wanting to get back together with Kori. Kori has also been retconned that she actually had a unforgettable relationship with Dick. But it was too difficult for her and that she tried to live, but she could not live without Dick Grayson’s loving tenderness. What happened is that Dick is really a prince and was about to get married to her but because she found out that the only reason he is marrying her is because she is a very popular socialite in gotham and he already lost feelings for her but still decided to continue because of how the public loves Kori.

Kori then ran outta the church wedding in her Alexander McQueen dress and Louboutin heels, in tears.

At the same time Jason was her best friend, but he has secretly been having a crush on Kori for all these time and he is the one with her through it all. Eventually they fell in love together even with all these time Roy was still going after her. So Jason gave her an ultimatum. Him or Roy. She decided to choose Roy. But when she did that Roy said he wanted to build Ollie’s empire while he was lost in the island. So he can’t be together with her. She looked for Roy at a casino and said, “You’ve chased after me for the whole year, let me chase after you now,” Then we fast forward to RHATO #1. When She teamed up with Jason to save him from middle east after he lost his empire to Ollie and went into a drug Spiral.

Lastly, I would like Kori to have a best friend that is Stargirl. Stargirl is a celebrity/socialite. Her full name is Courtney Van der Woodsen.

Wow, I'm surprised at how good my ideas are. I think DC should hire me to be a writer.

:cmad:Dammit you make pefect sense.:oldrazz:
Okay new idea-Zeus magaical barrier only keeps out superpowered folks.nonpowered superheroes and villins can get in the Godlands with no proble.Howver despite their efforts they cant change the status quo of the Godlands becsue they are non powered-I mean the Godlands need supernatural intervention..Even the great Batman isnt able to change things in the Godlands.,just like Superman cldnt change things in the Nomans land. But that doesnt stop non powered heroes from showing up sometimes to try and help WW but for most of the time shes alone in the war just like Bats was alone in Nomans Land

I think it might be cool to make the Kryptonians like the humans of the future in Doctor Who, how it was mentioned all the time that mankind expanded from Earth, traveled the galaxy and started colonies on other planets and bred with other aliens and grew.
It would be a fun idea to say that Krypton did the same thing, traveled to other planets throughout the galaxy and started colonies on those other planets and bred with the aliens there (not forcefully of coarse, just because they fell in love and got married and had children). The Kryptonian species grew and thrived. And maybe eventually they weren't pure Kryptonians (like Superman) on those planets anymore. And the planet Krypton was destroyed and everyone on it was killed. But there are still decendants of Krypton out there on other planets. Almost like the idea used in Invincible with the Viltrumites expect they didn't expand and force themselves onto other planets and turned the alien inhabitants into slaves.
This could be part of the whole Doomsday Cult on Krypton who worked behind the scenes on Krypton and discredited anyone who tried to reveal that Krypton would son end. It would just be a flip side of that coin. These would be Kryptonians who saw that the end was near and left Krypton for planets Krypton had found or already started colonies on and expanded out from there as well.
it could also explain Supergirl being from a sister planet (not sure if they are still using that story anymore) colonized by Kryptonians.

So while Krypton was on the verge of destruction several Kryptonians and their families left Krypton for other planets, while Krypton and everyone on it died these Kryptonians thrived and interbred with the aliens from those planets, and maybe even their offspring had children with other aliens from other planets, and so on. Clark was saved and grew up on Earth, and is now an adult (about 30 I guess) and is Superman. But there are other descendants of Kryptonians out in space and maybe some of them make it to Earth. Maybe (if time is a problem) they could have traveled back in time like the Legion do. Some could look more alien than Superman, while others could look more human but have different powers and act more alien than Superman.

Daxam is a planet filled with a Kryptonian offshoot species.
With the New 52 they seem to be going back and undoing or reimagining or explaining things, maybe like Supergirl's sister planet and a realistic idea of a Doomsday Cult/those who wanted off the planet, Daxam could be part of that. Some Kryptonians settled on Daxam and lived there, had children (some with local Daxam inhabitants) and what not.
The idea would be something that the writers and artists would make sure to make clear that Superman is the last son of Krypton. The survivors who settled on other planets had children and are maybe gone now but their children lived on. They wouldn't look human and have the same powers as Clark. If any of them had similar powers as Clark the artist would make that half Kryptonian look different somehow. Maybe different colored alien looking skin, maybe three eyes, scales, something. Those that do look like Kyptonians and more human would have different powers like the Legion of Superheroes does. Maybe like Cosmic Boy or or Captain Atom they can blast energy from their hands and eyes, or maybe they can turn invisible, or melt inorganic matter with their hands. Just some ideas.
None of them would look as human as Clark and have the same powers and all would be half Kryptonian only like Superboy is.
It just might be a fun idea that could lead to some fun stories. How would Clark react to them? What about Superboy or Supergirl? What about Zod or Luthor? Would they all be friendly? Would they try to take over Earth or maybe want to live on Earth and spread the Kryptonian empire to Earth? Maybe they don't go to Earth but maybe Superman goes to them. Maybe they are from the present or maybe they are a vision of the future that Clark thought impossible because he thought they were gone.

Lets see, Superman showed up in Metropolis about 5 years ago in the New 52 (Sort of Superboy) and he was about 20 something. Has it been established how long he traveled in space to get to Earth? Maybe before he left Krypton, like 5 years before, many Kryptonians left Krypton in fear of its destruction. They settled on alien planets and then Clark was sent to Earth and Krypton blew up. Some time passed and Clark landed on Earth. Then about 20 years passed on Superman shows up in Metropolis. Then 5 years pass again. So about 30-40 years or more has passed since the Kryptonians left Krypton. Maybe they settled on those alien planets and many had children with the aliens on those worlds, many meaning like 2-3 out of the 12 that settled on that one planet. So would that be a realistic amount of time to figure that half Kryptonian aliens could grow up to be teenagers or pre-teens?
I just like the idea that Krypton was like the humans described in the Doctor Who TV show who journeyed out into the stars and spread their species through the galaxy and colonized on many alien planets. They ended up not being the same as the humans who lived on Earth. Plus I don't see this taking away from Clark being the last son of Krypton at all, or anything like that.

As long as the Kryptonians don't end up as psychotic heads in shiny silver balls covered in spikes and lasers like humanity does in Doctor Who

As lazy as this is going to be (because it's hardly the most original thing on Earth), here's my idea for introducing Donna Troy into the New52.

Donna is a teenager living with her single mom, Dorothy Troy. What Dorothy has been keeping secret for years is the identity of Donna's father: Zeus. One day Hera discovers Donna is yet another product of Zeus' infidelity, she and sends assassins to kill her (as Hera does). Wonder Woman is warned of this, and she tries to rescue Dorothy and Donna. During the fray, Donna is pushed to her physical limits and discovers she's much stronger and faster than most people. Wonder Woman saves Donna's life, but Dorothy dies. With Donna having nowhere to go, needing protection in the future, and essentially being her little sister, Wonder Woman decides to take her in and train her.

Donna wouldn't necessarily be Wonder Girl (mainly because Cassie is using that name), but she'd make for a decent supporting character. She's a pupil, a relatable character, a supporting character that's easy for new writers to remember so they don't have to keep adding new ones, and a potential sidekick if anybody wants to go that route.

Or they could kill Cassie and let her have t mantle. :o

I'd say like Nightwing just bring in Donna Troy as the same character she always has been but just a different power set/slightly different origin/and different costume than Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl. And since it was established in the past they could just bring in the idea of her being a Titan God. She could be like Thor in Marvel. She would be an immortal god type with great power but mortal flaws like ego and anger and doubt. She wouldn't necessarily be stronger than Wonder Woman, just a different type of power. And that way you keep Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl and make Donna different enough that she still works.
But she might show up in Earth 2...

Speaking of Earth 2, here is my idea for how they could have done Justice Society.
In the regular New 52 Earth the Justice League has always been Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman. But there is some sort of argument between them all in terms of methods and morals. The team splits up and members like Flash and Wonder Woman, maybe GL, leave the team. The Justice League brings in members to replace them since they need to fill out the ranks for the Government but also because they have a job to do protecting the world. But then a new team shows up, a team calling itself the Justice Society. This team has Wonder Woman as team leader, the Flash (possibly calling himself something else) in a new costume somewhat reminiscent of the JSA Flash, Jay, Green Lantern (maybe also calling himself a different name) also in a new costume similar to Alan Scott's, and other new members. The Justice Society have different methods and different views of how to be a hero than the Justice League. This would be an ongoing idea, not just a plot for a story and goes away after that story. Maybe the Flash or GL return to the Justice League, but maybe Wonder Woman doesn't. But down the line the new 52 Justice Society stays together. Perhaps becomes a team where heroes go to help since they aren't exactly welcome in the new 52 Justice League.
the Justice Society's Flash character much like the Scarlet Spider could become a character, a character that Wally West could take over. Established by Barry but then taken over by another super speedster with similar powers as Barry but now has a different costume. And like Donna, he is different enough that he can stick around.

How Id have relaunched Superman
Id have had Grant Morrison and Markwaid to co-write Action comics and the Superman title. With Both of them co-writing by be greater coordination and consitency in both titles. Waid wld also balance out Morrisons flaws by bring grounding the stoty making it feel more modern, more cohesive and easier to understand.Waid wld also make the characters feel more 3-dimensional.
Id have Waid/Morrison tell the story of Supermans past 5 years in The first 20 issues of Action comics. Each year wld told in 4 issue arcs.So we wld have 5 arcs(Superman Year one,Year 2 etc). That wld be better than trying to jampack it all in 3 issues which is what I hear Morrison is about to do
