Moviefone's top 10 rules to making a good horror remake

When the Elm Street remake does it's own thing it's enjoyable but when it attempts to redo scenes from the original it fails badly.

Hmm a Return of the Living dead remake done in the same vein as Evil Dead 2013 would be pretty awesome. The original was baked with cheese as it's core recipe so I believe a remake done with over the top violence with a spice of black comedy would be ideal.

The Hills have Eyes. (Better than the dull original)
The Ring.

Yeah, those two were especially great also.

Sigh.

I like the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

There.

I said it.

Me too. I think it's probably better than about half of the films from the original series. It doesn't deserve near the lambasting it gets, alot of it is spiteful ignorance from genre buffs that despised it before they even seen it.
