If they're shooting new scenes, why is the term 'reshoots' used?

reshoots don't have to mean changes in the story, scenes etc. very often they do reshoots because some takes don't fit with special fx etc.

yeah, they do that with alot of movies.

all movies get reshoots, indie/bollywood/big budget blockbusters, it's not always to do with cgi, or last minute changes, reshoots are generally for things such as pick up shots, if the director doesn't feel an actor got the scene the best he could, if they didn't have adequate time at the location during principle photography, or simply if the director feels something during the editing process doesn't look right in the film....so these reshoots could be any number of things, not necessarily for cgi purposes or more action, every film has them
