Yeah, can't wait to see that first pic of him in the suit!

. . . And I can just hear some of the fanboys complaining now "teh green's too dark!" :woot:

oh me too so cant wait for first official picture in costume. i hope it will be as good as the spider-man movie costumes were and not what superman returns was.

When do you guys think we might get the first pic of Reynolds as Hal (in costume)? I don't even remember when we got the first pic of Routh or Bale. Do you think we'll have to wait until comic-con, or are we probably going to get one sooner, since filming begins in about a month?

Probably Comic-Con. Unless the first scenes they shoot in Louisiana happen to be Hal Jordan in full GL gear outdoors, I doubt we'll get a spy pic of RR that soon. The overall movie costume will be kept top-secret, until Warners gets some good high-res stills of RR posing in the GL suit or a teaser trailer.

well since filming start up in just a few weeks in march. if its prior to comic con i would probably put first official look or a leaked photo around mayish my guess.

Ryan Reynolds didn´t catch on? What about The Proposal? I know it was a Sandra Bullock movie, but he was the co-star. And a lot of fans thought his Deadpool was one of the better things of the otherwise bland XMOW.

yea and he has been in alot of movies in the past few yrs too. he isnt that new being 32/34 what ever it is i am blanking right now.

I somehow think this will be as secretive as ST was. Maybe with luck we'll see Reynolds in the pilot uniform walking around or maybe even a peek at Lively as Carol or Sargaard as Hammond but nothing too much. And we could see the air base sets most likely.

well yea i am sure we will probably get first official still in costume prior to any comic con panels and anything in about mayish. Then if there is any spy shots from the studio shoot before they move to any outdoor locations he will probably be in cloaks and all that and at most we just see his hands/feet which could or could not have gloves-boots on. to see a tiny peak at that.

Both DC and Warner Brothers will have exibitis at Comic-Con, but it is left to be seen what they will have to present at that time. I am sure that something will leak out if there is an outdoor shoot, but I am not going to get my hopes up on a costume leak before April.

Dont forget the 'Hair's all wrong, mask looks wrong, eyes are wrong, emblems wrong, expression on his face looks weird' etc.......

i love when fanboys call fanboys "fanboys." i guarantee those of us saying that people will have insane comments about whatever is released in the next few months are going to be the ones making the comments. poetic, almost.

I will always remember a stupid poster's sig saying "I see this new Joker and it's not the Joker from my childhood." back when the first photo of the Joker was released.

It makes me hate the closeminded-ness of fanboys sometimes.

it would be the end of the world if fanboys made movies on their own.

I'm all for giving Ryan Reynolds a chance. Is he my first choice as Hal? No. I think he'll do well, but whether he is merely passable, blows us away, or somewhere in between will only be answered by time.

Casting concerns are nothing new. Anyone else remember hearing that Mr. Mom was cast as Batman???

Some were concerned about Heath Ledger as the Joker. He did better than Nicholson and won an Oscar.

Some said Hugh Jackman wouldn't work as Wolverine because he was too much taller than the character. Instead, he defined the character.

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark sounded like typecasting to anyone familiar with Iron Man in the 80s. That movie was a huge success critically and financially.

I finally got around to seeing Casino Royale. Great movie, and I remain convinced that having the right director is a huge key to any movie. Tim Burton, Chris Nolan, Bryan Singer, and Jon Favreau all had a vision for their movies and saw something in their chosen casts that helped them fulfill those visions.

Everyone ask yourselves, how do you feel about Martin Campbell? Is he the right director for Green Lantern? If so, then have faith that he saw something in RR for this project and that we will see that same something in July 2011.

The only downside to Reynolds being cast as Hal Jordan is that whoever is cast as Superman needs to be just as big as Reynolds is or slightly bigger, IMO.

Don't give me that crap about camera angles and ****. Whoever they cast as Superman has to look like Superman offscreen as well.:cmad:
