I never said it wasn't in character. It's just there's a difference to me with a girl getting raped(don't get me wrong, it's still a disgusting act)and someone getting raped in the wrong hole and getting literally ripped apart.

No matter what, rape of any kind is a disgusting act but the way Moore did it was uneccessary.


It didn't ruin the books for me but it was a little nasty.

And dont forget, after he rapes him to deah, he then proceeds to later eat him. Hyde isn't supposed to be cute and cuddly, he's the base, animalistic part of humanity...so yes, of course it's disgusting, and unesccessary, but it fits.

I never thought he ate him...especially when he's eating dinner with Nemo and that old guy afterwards. I thought the blood all over him was because he literally ripped him in half from having a huge "piece" and that was blood from him raping him to death.

Guess it would make more sense if he did eat part of him afterwards...for being that bloody.

Looks like someone has trouble separating real life from A STORY. You know that Hyde is a concrentration of evil, right? You're supposed to be disgusted. It's how stories work.

Murder is a horrible act. It's worse than rape. Are you saying books or movies should never be about murder, because it's wrong?

The Black Dossier is an actual story. It's actually several stories, about several different leagues, each told in a different way. The thread between all of them is told like the other League books, as a comic with Mina and Quartermain going after the book that MI6 has containing all this info, the Black Dossier. They get into a conflict with James Bond and Emma Peel during it, and end up on the run. It's a good read, and adds quite a bit to the backstory of the other leagues.

I'm a huge horror movie fan and murder/rape scenes don't bother me when it's in a fictional setting with fictional characters...whatsoever.

If you want me to get down to brass tacks...I guess it was more disgusting due to him raping the character in the ******* with a 'member' most likely twice to three times the size of a normal person if not larger.

Go to Something Awfuls horroros of porn section, then look at..I think it's internet round up #2...some of the things on those "insertion" websites make anything Hyde has look like a 2 year old...sure, they're all either photoshopped or done with trick photography, but the concept remains

I got that idea when you said " I thought that was entirely stupid and disgusting to the point where it knocked Alan Moore down a notch for me". If you said it was there only for shock value, or it was out of character, or it was stupid because it was unoriginal or contrived then I would've assumed you were talking about his decisions as a writer. But because you said stupid and disgusting I assumed you were just opposed to the idea of lethal buttsex in general and were using that to judge the writing. Apologies if I was patronising to you. Actually to be honest I did intend to be patronising but I was under the impression you were foolish and deserving of it, so sorry bout that. you can never be sure on these boards
