I dunno, I just like making lists. I like knowing exactly what my top 10 favorite "things" are. I mean, how many times do you say "that's one of my top 10 favorite movies"? I'd say probably more than 10.
So this thread is devoted to sharing what our top 10 favorite *whatever* is, or any number really. I don't care what you post, just have fun. Make it your favorite books, songs, movies, actors, actresses, celebrities-to-do, sexual positions, whatever. Just have fun with it.
I'll start it off.
TOP 10 FAVORITE NOVELS:
1. The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien
2. The Silmarillion, by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Wool, by Hugh Howey
4. Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton
5. The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
6. The Shack, by W.M. William Young
7. The Hunger Games, by Susanna Clarke
8. The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks
9. The Last Battle, by C.S. Lewis
10. Myst: The Book of Tiana, by Rand Miller
I think the Hobbit is obvious for me. I love the Silmarillion because of its depth and creativity. Wool is a newer book that sucked me in so hard I felt like I needed to leave money on the dresser. Jurassic Park is not only good but strongly nostalgic for me. The Book Thief was one of the last books I read in the book club I run before it went on hiatus and it was very fulfilling. The Shack is the only book to ever send tears dripping from my face to the page. I'm not a fan of the Hunger Games trilogy over all, but I adore the first novel. I prefer it as a stand alone story. It's the only one I own of the three. The Notebook was my first shot at something outside of fantasy and I loved it. It paved the path to me writing non-fantasy stories like Cicada Song. I like The Last Battle (book 7 of the Narnia series) because I've always been interested in the book of Revelation, and the Last Battle is an interesting fantasy take on the story. I loved Myst: the Book of Ti'anna because it's not really like anything else I've ever read. Yes, it's based on the games and I don't usually like that sort of thing, but it won me over.
