Tommy Wiseau to direct FF2?

I think they should do it. A $200,000,000 sequel to a hundred million loss flop directed by Wiseau? That would be the dumbest damn thing anyone in Hollywood had ever approved. It would lose so much money that Fox's film division would be in shambles. New executives would be the first order of business. Go ahead, Fox, make my day.

This is actually a great idea. Because if its one thing the public has made clear its that it wants to see a sequel to this film. And some of you can deny it but you know you want one too. And FOX will deliver this time.

Finally! The promised sequel to fix everything they knew they were doing wrong in the first movie!

Well all the talk of a sequel, especially coming from the studio is BS. Fox studios parent company 21st Century Fox will never allow it. At the end of the day movies are an investment to the bean counters, execs and shareholders. A sequel to a property that has spawned 3 films with the profits shrinking on the 2nd to a 100 million or whatever loss on the 3rd isn't going to get greenlit. This will be viewed as both a bad and risky investment and I'm certain this will not be cleared unless the parent company is run by the Keystone Cops.

I think FOX is announcing a sequel as a way to up the value of the ip in case they get an offer from Disney. All Marvel has to do is wait it out until the rites expire in 7 years. They can't make a another F4 film too soon. The brand is tarnished now and will need a 10-15 year wait before they can even consider doing another. All this flop of a movie do was give Marvel even more leverage since FOX wants to do an Xmen tv show and has to clear it with Marvel. Marvel would be a fool not to bring the rites of the F4 to the negotiating table.

Stupid thread that should be closed. This news has already been mentioned in other threads.

I would be at the midnight showing.

So long as Wiseau plays Doom.

Honestly, given the bad blood between Fox and Marvel? This would absolutely be a great way for them to poison the well even more and extend their rights. Plus the potential Midnight Movie aspect of it would probably be more financially sound than you'd expect.

Plus:

The Room 35% on RT
FF 9% on RT

So getting Wiseau would be a critical and financial improvement.

Fox would be crazy not to do this. It makes complete sense as a business descision.

I'm ok with that, so long as he doesn't make it a porn movie.
