Age of Extinction Transformers 4 trailer discussion

Acording to the Wikis he was created in the Transformers: Animated Cartoon. I wonder where they get the ideas for the new villains, whenever lists of "Villains we want to see in the next Transformers Film" come up i don't think these guys ever come up.

Then who was the tf in Armada or one of the cartoon series that came on CN, not tf: animated that wore a green cloak I think?

CN had two TF cartoons that came on before tf: animated, I believe Armada and then one prior or after about them finding mini tf's or something.

I haven't watched any of the cartoons, but after Beast Wars there was the Unicron Trilogy, three TF animes that were all connected with Unicron, after that came Animated and then Prime, i believe
