Which actor was the best ever....

Dracula? Gary Oldman
Batman? Kevin Conroy
Tarzan? -
Sherlock Holmes? Basil Rothbone
Doctor - Tom Baker
James Bond- Sean Connery
Scrooge? Kelsey Grammer! :p
Superman? Reeve. But that's not the only way the character can be played.
D'Artagnan? Chris O'donnel
Robin Hood? Flynn, though I'd like to see anouther 'realistic' take ala costner with a british actor
Dr Frankenstein? Branagh
Frankenstein's Monster? Bobby!!!
Santa Claus? pass

Dracula Christopher Lee
Batman Christian Bale
Sherlock Holmes Michael Caine

Scrooge Michael Caine
Superman Christopher Reeve
Robin Hood Kevin Costner
Dr Frankenstein Peter Cushing
Frankenstein's Monster Christopher Lee
Santa Claus Richard Attenborough

Dracula? Bela
Batman? Christian Bale
Tarzan?
Sherlock Holmes?
Doctor (Who)?
James Bond? Connery
Scrooge? Alistair Sim
Superman? Christopher Reeve
D'Artagnan?
Robin Hood? Flynn
Dr Frankenstein? Kenneth Branagh

James Bond? Dainal Criage
Scrooge? Michael Caine
Superman? Christopher Reeve
D'Artagnan? Gene Kelly
Robin Hood?
Dr Frankenstein?
Frankenstein's Monster? Boris Karloff
Santa Claus? lol I have no idea lol

I'm assuming this was best in the role, and not best actor who played the role. For example Gary Oldman is a better actor than Bela Lugosi in general, but Lugosi was better than Dracula.

Dracula? Bela Lugosi
Batman? Michael Keaton
Tarzan? Johnny Weismuller
Sherlock Holmes? Basil Rathbone
Doctor (Who)? [Don't watch it]
James Bond? Roger Moore
Scrooge? (Edit: Changed my mind) Michael Caine
Superman? Christopher Reeve
D'Artagnan? Can't decide
Robin Hood? Errol Flynn
Dr Frankenstein? Peter Cushing (though I also love Colin Clive's performance)
Frankenstein's Monster? Boris Karloff
Santa Claus? Richard Attenborough

Michael Keaton as Batman was terrible...first of all,He used the same voice as he did as Bruce Wayne. Second of all, The movie's script was horrible too,Batman hardly ever talked, even when he was being asked questions,Keaton's Batman was very stale.

And I think Bale does a horrible Bruce Wayne, and was exceedingly misguided in playing the whole character as a childish prick. Also, his SWEAR TO ME scene was ridiculous. It's fun how everyone has opinions!

Dracula? Louis Jordan
Batman? Christian Bale
Tarzan? Bruce Bennett
Sherlock Holmes? Basil Rathbone
Doctor (Who) Tom Baker
James Bond? Sean Connery
Scrooge? Alister Sim
Superman? Christopher Reeve
D'Artagnan? Gene Kelly
Robin Hood? Errol Flynn
Dr Frankenstein? Peter Cushing
Frankenstein's Monster? Michael Sarazzin
Santa Claus? Edmund Gwyn

There was a big out cry from the public at the time when they announced that Michael Keaton was to be Batman, even Bob Kane didn't like the announcement.

Bob Kane has also stated Jack Nicholson was the perfect Joker and no one could have done a better job:cwink:

Yes, before it came out, and that was only because he had only done comedies before that, and he's a small guy. I don't know if you read the thread but at least half the thread listed him as the best.

Dracula? It's between Lugosi and Oldman for me, But I'm gonna say Lugosi for setting the standard even if the movie isn't one of the better Universal horror films.
Batman? Geez. Adam West was brilliantly funny, but I'm gonna go with Keaton. That said, Bale may sneak into 1st depending on TDK.
Tarzan? I'm gonna go with Tony Goldwyn in the '99 Disney flick.
Sherlock Holmes? Hmmm... I've never actually seen a Holmes flick so I can't say.
Doctor (Who)? God I hated that show. No comment.
James Bond? I was introduced to Moore first, so that is where my heart lies. Empirically speaking though, Connery is the best.
Scrooge? Alistair Sim had the most impact and set the standard.
Superman? Christopher Reeve, hands down. I'm one of the few that loved Superman Returns, but Routh has a ways to go to towards being a contender here.
D'Artagnan? Fairbanks ftw.
Robin Hood? I'm going with the fox in the Disney film. He was sheer pimpage.
Dr Frankenstein? Colin Clive was the best, no contests.
Frankenstein's Monster? Boris Karloff. The rest don't even come close.
Santa Claus? Edmund Gwenn, no question.

Cause most of the people on here aren't old enough to even remember when Batman came out, they were still in diapers and besides alot of people have bad taste.

It's really too bad there aren't film recordings or anything so you can see movies after they first come out.

Frankenstein's Monster? Boris Karloff
Santa Claus? Richard Attenborough

Dracula? Gary Oldman
Batman? Bale/Keaton
Doctor (Who)? David Tennant
James Bond? Daniel Craig
Scrooge? Michael Caine
Superman? Reeves
Dr Frankenstein? Kenneth Branagh
Frankenstein's Monster? Robert De Niro
