And why wouldn't Kyle be one of the last Corp? He's one of the youngest and he's from 2814.

However Sodam might have received that name when he was one of the last handfull or so.

I mean the context of why being from Earth would necessarily make him one of the last. I suppose Earthmen are a little more resilient than other sectors, considering that non-Earth Lanterns seem to die like Titans every month.

OK, Corp can I make a new thread, with only the one post in it, that you then lock up and sticky, that answers this question? Because we do get this one a lot. People should have a place they can immediately go to and get the answer:

• If you have a wealthy budget, pick up GL Rebirth, all of Johns' run on GL, all of GLC (including Recharge), and Sin Corps War. Basically everything Green Lantern since Rebirth.
• If your budget is a little more conservative, just pick up Rebirth and everything Johns has done on Green Lantern (and Sin Corps War.)
• If your budget is pretty tight, pick up Rebirth and Sin Corps War.

Well considering that the number 2814 is in the introduction of every Green Lantern comic book I just assumed you had read at least one issue.

Who reads those intros? They all say the same thing over and over and over. And even then, the way it was worded it seemed like he was saying Kyle was from the year 2814 and that's how he was able to name Sodam Yat the last GL/Torchbearer.

For someone who has never read Green Lantern, I would say the history of Hal Jordan is pretty important. It's like getting asked about Jesus without mentioning the Old Testament. No, it's not strictly necessary per say, but it does hold some important details and stories.

Now, I'm going to sit here and wait for the flak I receive for comparing Hal Jordan to Jesus. Hmm, can you imagine, if a younger, hipper, possibly better Jesus with a 90's haircut showed up right before the crucifixion and took over, but then Easter happened and all of a sudden the old Jesus was back.
