Not true. Just look at Episode I. The Force doesn't work that way. Qui-Gon identifying Anakin so quickly and Anakin's ability to already see the future proves this.

Proximity is pretty much everything. The only reason Anakin and Luke were able to avoid contact with the Jedi Order and Empire respectively is because they are on the Outer Rim.

The truth is Leia the twin came to Lucas quite late in the game and basically had to play a game of "the force wills it" or Vader's past leaves his unable to read his kids, to explain the obvious errors in continuity.

Qui-Gon first started taking interest in Anakin as a potential force user after Anakin told him he could pilot a pod. That's not humanly possible as the movie clearly states and Qui-Gon immediately said he must have Jedi reflexes.

I really hope Bioware gives The Old Republic a chance on PS3 and Xbox 360. Something truly unique and special about Final Fantasy XI was that it was one of the rare instances where PC, PS2/PS3 (if you had a compatible one) and Xbox 360 players could all come together and play the same game with each other and be part of a comunity that didn't revolve around being at each others' throats. It totally bypasses the console war concept and just lets everyone come together and have fun and be part of a community with no console-specific borders or divisions, and I think TOR could take it even further since it also taps into the Star Wars fan community.

The biggest potential issue in porting will probably be coming up with an adequate control scheme for console play without altering the gameplay, but I think that's perfectly doable. There have been a lot of innovations in recent years in regards to onscreen menu systems with console games. Also, the Xbox 360 and PS3 both have keyboard peripherals that snap directly onto the controllers, which could open up new options for not just communication but also controls by way of shortcuts, which PC MMO players have been accustomed to for years. I smell bundle opportunities if TOR gets released on consoles.

I'm hoping for the same, especially since I'm thinking about switching to Mac soon. My PC has failed me for the last time. :cmad:

True, distance does distort perception of the Force, but the rest still applies.

Besides in the case of Anakin, he is not naturally conceived either, and could be the creation of Palpatine, if an explanation for his immaculate conception is developed.

I really don't like that part of Anakin's backstory. There had to be a father. I can't for once believe Palpatine could be his father after everything that happened to Anakin at the end of ROTS. I hate that evil bastard for the lies he created to make Anakin consider joining him but then again, Skywalker is to blame for his mistakes as well. I think Anakin had a father who didn't stick around long enough to get to know. I thought about what he'd be like...maybe a mercenary...who has the ability to use the force but decided that the path of the Jedi was not for him.

I think it would have been an interesting revelation if Anakin's father showed up in the prequel's in some way.

That has nothing to do with Jedi reflexes. Human Jedi can't pilot Pods as you pointed out.

How does Anakin's origin change anything?

The truth is that Lucas screwed up the concept of perception through the force. Yoda was all seeing, except for when the Darkside interfered. The Emperor could see halfway across the galaxy, could feel Padme die, but didn't realize Luke and Leia survived.

This is true. Lucas admitted it on the Daily Show

Darth Plagueis is Anakins "father". Thats why palpatine mentioned this to Anakin is episode 3, Plagueis had the ability to manipulate the midi-chlorians to create life. Thats why Palpatine told this story about Plagueis the wise. Not only to sway Anakin even more, but as he mentions this to Anakin he looks right at him.

Anakin was artificially manipulated to become stronger than most Jedi around him, and to develop faster. It's implied by Palpatine that he created Anakin totally from the Midochlorians to one day serve as his strongest apprentice.

The Emperor never felt Padme die, he lied to Anakin so the last part of himself would die inside during his transition to Darth Vader. Anything that the Dark Side does to distort the Force is a different issue. My original explanation that the twins had to consciously experience using the Force still explains this. Even Anakin didn't know that Padme was pregnant until she told him flat out.

But Lucas did totally screw up by not giving enough explanation to how all of this worked in the first place.

I'm pridicting that Star Wars will be announced for Blu-Ray at Celebration V in Augest.

Forget that. I want a BF3 announcement at Celebration V. Blu-ray can wait until ROTJ turns 30....I'll probably have one by then.

Palpatine only told Anakin that story because he new somehow about Anakins dreams of padme dieing.

Lucas originally planned to have Palpatine reveal to Anakin that he was his father.

It's ambiguous. He took it out intentionally to give it more of a mystery. He did the right thing.

Here is the closest you'll ever get to Episode VII: The Dark Empire radio play. It's damn good, and has some of the original actors, including Billy Dee Williams.
