Wolverine has been kidnapped multiple times by various people and organizations (Hydra and Apocalypse to name two), he's gone crazy multiple times, been experimented on A LOT and he's died once or twice.

Captain America, far as I know hasn't gone crazy but the rest of my points stand.

As for Jesus himself, he's gotten super powers, was kidnapped by romans and died.
