Season 7, Episode 7 "The Dragon and the Wolf" Discussion Thread

Poor Elia Martell. Talk about betrayal. Not only does she get her marriage annulled but a new son even gets her son's name? That's messed up. If I was Jon I would be appalled and ashamed of that heritage and refuse to acknowledge it, and keep on being the bastard of Ned Stark.

HOW THEY GONE LET THAT WIGHT RUN UP ON CERSEI LIKE THAT? I SCREAMED. MY HEART FROZE . SHE LOOK SO SCARED! :'( MY BABY </3 i loved how she didnt let it faze her tho. She is such a strong person and she is in the right tbh. Why should she help the bores, jon and dany? They are haters who want to use her and then get her off the throne. And can we also highlight that she had mutiple oppurtunities to kill her brothers this episode and she didnt, bc cersei doesnt betray her family unlike her TRAITOR brothers. Jamie can choke after this episode.

I'm so glad arya and sansa have squashed their beef btw. They need each other :)

Theon is a sweetie! I am so glad he is redeeming himself now. For yara!

Oh um Blue Eyes Wight Dragon was great. His speed was crazy and I half expected to see flames coming from his body like they did when he went down. And yes I lol'd at the NK's resting ***** face as he rode Viserion.

And as for Tyrion lurking in the shadows I honestly have no idea what's going on but it damn sure doesn't look good.

I just saw the episode on my huge TV in HD and the speed of the dragon looked freaking insane

The Theon stuff is coming too late for me. It would have been fine earlier but it's too off the point and a little boring to watch now that ice dragon's are taking out the wall and the final pieces of all the major players are getting into place.

I thought the same thing too... I wonder if that was intentional.

I was so happy for a second thinking Rhaegal finally got mommy's attention now that they're one short. :funny:

You've probably hit on something that's not impossible in terms of Jon's reaction, especially if there's something deeper to Rhaegar's wish for a union. Between Sam, Bran and Melisandre (who has already alluded to it), the union of ice and fire has to mean something. Jon might be pissed off at what it means.

Well, Robert Baratheon was her family since she married him, and he was the king, so there is a teeny bit o'treason there on a couple of levels.

I guess being dead, you don't have to catch your breath when flying, or get more air for fire. Sad seeing that.

Given the leaks I was hugely surprised

Cersei didn't miscarry. I think they just robbed Lena of that Emmy nomination.

After all these dirty details, it's all really got me hoping for a big **** destiny! moment in season 8. He's all about oaths and honesty, well, here it comes to the point of a spear. Who are you, Jon Snow?

I don't know. As things stand he's set for more haplessness given he's probably going the wrong way to save Yara. On the other hand if he's allowed to be truly reborn and get on Euron's tail it could be interesting.

There can't be any more false starts from him though.....and the time needs to be used well.

Whoever leaked it probably got it mixed up with Lyanna and her scene.

Perhaps I'm slow, but I just noticed... For Littlefinger, there was a Brandon Stark at the beginning and the end. Ned's brother dealt him the crushing defeat that made him who he is, and Ned's son made the extent of his deeds known.

Ser Bronn and Jaimee Lannister's conversation at the opening had me laughing. I liked seeing the Unsullied and the Dothraki side by side like that they make for one hell of an army. A couple of reunions this episode; The Hound and Brienne, Tyrion and Gendry, as well as Ser Gregor and The Hound. One of the things I found interesting about the big meeting scene was being reminded about how far most of these characters have come. The Tyrion and Cersei conversation scene was very good and arguably the two best character actors left in the series. The Theon Greyjoy and Jon Snow scene was also quite good. Seems a bit late for Theon to find his courage though. (I almost wrote "grow a pair" but his lack thereof actually came in handy during his fight scene.) At first I thought it was weird that Sansa seemed to be so easily manipulated by Littlefinger but it was brilliant when she flipped it on him especially Arya finishing him off. Kind of great seeing Jaimee walk out on Cersei like that and Winter came to Westeros as he rode off. The army of white walkers marching on the wall and the Night King flying on the back of an ice dragon was an epic visual. The wall coming down like that is one of the scariest things this show has done.

Where was Gendry during all this? Was he with Jon or did he stay with Tormund?

Haha, l completely didn't notice that Gendry wasn't in the episode. I assume he waited at Dragonstone?

Yes the Unsullied and Dothraki together with their different styles worked really well with the Dothraki galloping between the Unsullied ranks. I'd like to see how effective that combination would be in a real battle.

Been thinking about Cersei's huge political blunder. She has chosen to remain in KL with her army and to call in the Golden Company to subjugate the kingdoms. The rest of the armies or as many as possible are heading North to fight the army of the dead. Those armies will see Jon and Dany leading the fight. After its done and the army of the dead are defeated who are the people and the armies going to stand behind and support? Jon and Dany, the two that charged headfirst into battle against an army of horrors...or the selfish ***** that holed up in KL and did nothing while an army of dead destroyed the North and her foreign army ravaged and pillaged the South during Winter?

This is just so wrong on so many levels I believe you must be joking.
