Never say never.
Brainiac showing up on krypton is nothing but good news, same with his presence on injustice 2. It's good exposure to those who don't already know who he is. So when we do get brainiac on the big screen there's more of an understanding of who he is by non hardcore fans. And we've seen them snatch up characters from tv for the big screen purposes too.
Seeing Brainiac from Syfys Krypton makes me sad that well never see him go toe to toe with the Man of Steel
I get the sense Bayona is more flexible overall. Certainly more so than Vaughn. The biggest difference as I see it would be you need to have a script written for Bayona where Vaughn would most likely at least co-write a script.

It's actually kind of depressing that we've had 8 live action films that have featured the character (Superman) and not ONE film where Brainiac has made an appearance, let alone used as a villain for the character.
He looks so badass

To this day, I still believe that Brainiac should have been the FIRST villain for the Justice League to fight.
However, I feel like we may have to wait A LONG time before we ever see a live action version of Superman take on a properly portrayed looking Brainiac.
Superman's solo sequel is pretty much in development hell (just like SR's sequel was before it was inevitably cancelled) and any and all TV shows that we have dealing with Superman's world actually omits the titular character from the very premise of their respective shows.
And since we've already had 3 films in a row that have dealt with an alien villain bent on destroying the world, i feel like people may be worn out of that type of villain for the time being.

Agreed on all of this. Very glad to see him making an appearance and looking so good.
Getting Brainiac a sizeable audience would be a great step. I want the Shazam cameo, and also think MoS should focus on being a MoS sequel rather than worrying too much about what happened in BvS and JL.Agreed. If 'Krypton' pulls it off Brainiac gets a bigger fanbase. Also a TV show has more time to explain his backstory since a movie plot is usually accelerated.
I'm still optimistic about a MOS sequel. It doesn't feel like the "Superman Returns" sequel situation at this point. There are still grumblings that are positive e.g. a possible Shazam! cameo.
In a way I really want to think of Superman's story in terms of his story after MOS. I kind of want to forget (or rather, put aside) BvS and the JL movie, and focus on the continuation of Superman's solo story, since there is a clean slate and he is pretty much where he was after MOS, after all the chaos and messiness of BvS and JL.

Yeah. That seems reasonable for both of those audiences and it is a good way to give the next creative team flexibility in doing what they want without rebooting. Feels like the best of both worlds to me.
I think it needs to be a straight up Superman movie. Dont know if thats what you both meant anyway. But I dont think it should in anyway be tied to anything thats happened in the previous movies and by that I just mean no plot threads from the previous films.
