Venom Sony Revives 'Venom' Solo Movie - Part 4

Crazy theory:

I wonder if Sony is doing 'Into the Multiverse' to blur the lines between film universe lines/realities, making things more ambiguous, and maybe 'loosening' people up to the idea of multiple Spideys/Universes existing concurrently to each other. I mean, ITM is supposed to have Tobey's Spider-man right? And then having an extended look at it attached to the Venom movie?? :wow:

Maybe they're trying to get people used to the idea lol, in case that's something they wanna pull somewhere down the line :hmm
I don't think Sony are that smart, but this would be a happy accident. Bring back Garfield to face off against Hardy. :D :rky::venom:

If it were established that Venom takes place in the future or an alternate reality to the mcu then I would prefer Tobey if they went with another Spider-man. I just don't want to see Garfield's *****ey Spider with his cringey mannerisms.

I wamt Tobey back too. The one true Spiderman in my eyes. But lets be honest, that will never happen. That'd be such a slap in the face to Holland.

He loves the meatloaf his aunt cooks.

Forget what you hate about how the webhead was portrayed in those two movies, and imagine him play the role with material that makes him more acceptable in your eyes. The poor man is a big fan who was just as disappointed as much as half of the people complaining about the version he was given to portray.

Personally i thought Andrew Garfield was more like spider-man then what Toby was. there is very little personality to Toby as spider-man, and the personality of spider-man is always what attracted me to the character in the first place.

Beyond maybe the 80s live action show and maybe the really early animated shows, the Raimi films are the only version of spider-man that seems to dull his characteristics within the suit to being much more of a silent hero, that seems more in league with Superman.

Still for me one of the better fights scenes in the spider-man movies is in TASM with the school fight, as it didn't have to be a grand and wide spread action piece. all it needed was spider-man showing personality.

There is just so much wrong with this post.

Tobey in the Spider-Man costume had a good well defined personality, Peter Parker is what defines Spider-Man, and these movies got the relationship between personality sides right. I still think he had more of Ross Gellar in his portrayal of Peter though.

The 70s live action show really failed at making his character interesting in the suit though, not because they did not manage to find the right balance between the sides of the character, but mostly because there isn't much to that version of Peter Parker, even though the actor said they wanted to humanize him and was encouraged to play the role of a person more than a costumed beefed up ruffian.

The 80s animated shows did Peter and Spider-Man justice when it comes to characterization, however the world you see built around the character helps define him, and they had too many restrictions when it comes to building their worlds, and they failed at making the character as well defined as fans would like to see because the world built around him is pretty lacking.

The 60s cartoon is flat and has no dimensions though, that one take on the character is almost devoid of personality in its first season. You can say they tried to do more with the latter seasons under the second production company, but it turned to be sour.

I enjoyed Andrew as Spider-Man. The portrayal might not have been perfect and I didn't like how they made him look up youtube clips or listen to other people talking about web-sling physics to get it right, but I really enjoyed him in the suit. Tobey to me was always just kind of... there.

I remember that bit being for audience ears, don't recall seeing Pete looking at them as they walk and talk one step of the way.

EDIT: Ok, so he was walking behind those two and listening to what they say, but nothing from what they said has any real effect on how to swing, or design a suit that helps him swing better.

The only real problem I recall that people consistently brought up with the Raimi films at the time is that he didn't quip enough. For me Tobey and the Raimi films always hit the right tone. Garfield will always be a weird and *****ey Spider-man. While I think Garfield given better material and a different approach could give a good performance my preference will always be for Tobey because he got it right first time.

Yeah, Garfield they made him go overboard in the other direction after listening to the criticism's about Tobey's lack of quippiness (which I never got the problem with, he makes jokes, he isn't mute like the Nicholas Hammond version). He was so reckless with the jokes and his actions in the Amazing movies, like the cartoonish jokes while the Rhino is driving trucks all over traffic. Tom strikes the balance the best probably, though.

Someone please involve Robert Downey Stark in the Venom movies, that will finalize which Spider-Man is meant to be involved in this effing world Sony announced is supposed to walking along the lines of MCU that they even announced in one of the trailers "This world has too many heroes".

Lol, RDJ wouldn’t touch Venom with a ten foot pole.

If Sony offered him the right money and marvel allowed it... yeah i am almost certain he would.

I ain't sure RDJ would be picky when it came to getting a big pay cheque and playing the role that defined him once again.

I don't know how Tobey get's way with being the most boring and un-charismatic movie version of Spiderman and still get's so much praise. I respect the fact that there's nostalgia involved, but Tobey had 3 movies and only made one joke "...Did your boyfriend make it for you...". That's unacceptable for Spiderman.

I personally rank them:

1. Tom Holland
2. Andrew Garfield
3. Tobey Maguire

I really can't even with Maguire's so cartoonishly exaggerated nerdiness and his sadsack moping anymore. That's not Peter Parker.

1 is an exagerration, as Spider-Man I can think of: "CHEESE!" "Hey kiddo, let mom and dad talk for a minute will ya?" "It's you who's out, Gobby, out of your mind!" "I have a knack for that" "Here's your change!" the gulp when Ock is about to poke him with the tentacle spike "Jig's up, pal! Guess you haven't heard, I'm the sherrif around these parts" "Where do all these guys come from?" there was enough for me scattered throughout, and he wouldn't get all jokey when things are personal/serious which to me feels right.
