The Consequences of Endgame Will Open Up the MCU to a Mind-Blowing Future

Rumor has it that in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Nick Fury introduces Mysterio to Spider-Man and says he’s from a different Earth. Now, obviously Mysterio is a BSer, but the theme of the multiverse and multiple parallel Earths is something that the film immediately following Avengers: Endgame will apparently address; and that opens up an infinite number of possibilities for the future of the MCU.

Big if true. They did tease the multiverse in Doctor Strange wong even says at the end of the film "word of the ancient ones death will spread through the multiverse" Could be how they introduce F4 and X-Men.

Very interesting. Lots of possibilities with that direction

I don't want mutants or the F4 coming from an alternative reality, personally. And considering who this is coming from, I'd take it with a massive grain of salt

Dude, spoiler in the thread title. Come on.

Future films are going to be crazy if this pans out.

question - will this be the last sony spiderman/marvel studios co-production?

I dont see how its a spoiler. Besides Russos said the endgame spoiler ban lifts on Monday I dont see the problem.
It's a Far From Home spoiler. Endgame spoiler ban is the one that is lifting. Who would guess that a Spider-Man movie would deal with the multiverse?

C'mon dude it doesn't matter at this point. Its not a big spoiler now especially since they just released a trailer that features this element that will be seen by millions online and will likely be attached to another movie playing in the theater. Sony already spoiled it.

Should definitely stay off of social media if the trailer is too much for you.

I actually do agree with you since it was in the trailer. I just try to be very cautious in regards to spoilers.

I think a trailer is fair game, but it might be reasonable to have put this thread in the Spider-Man forum.

Far From Home director Jon Watts seemingly confirms that Far From Home introduces the Multi-Verse into the MCU.

Fandango: Let's get to the most important question: Does Far From Home introduce the Multiverse to the MCU?

Jon Watts: Well, I mean, yeah. We had to look at it in terms of the scope of what happened at the end of Endgame. Seeing all the crazy things that they did and all the questions that raises. So we're definitely trying to answer one of the big ones -- alternate timelines. So many possibilities opened up at the end of Endgame, and Peter Parker is one of the few people on the ground dealing with them.

Fandango: Are you able to explain the rules of this multiverse in terms of how it differs from the Spider-Verse that we were introduced to in Into The Spider-Verse?

Jon Watts: I wouldn't dare! I'll let Nick Fury do that.

Hmm, something seems fishy if you ask me.

Is it a spoiler for a film if it's featured in the film's trailer?

Hopefully one of the consequences is the debut of America Chavez.

I have a feeling with Mysterio's story typically being a villain pretending to be a hero at first, the whole multiverse thing might be a lie. Still, cool to have an actual multiverse teased, the one in Doctor Strange is really just other dimensions not a parallel earth/alternate reality as we typically refer to.

I think it might be interesting if Mysterio was from the Sonyverse or one of the worlds featured in Spiderverse, maybe even the Raimi or Webb films. Not necessarily to setup a crossover but just as a nice little nod.

Will be interesting to see if its true or just a just a lie concocted by Mysterio.

Far From Home trailer pretty much confirms its happening and people are coming through from other Earths. So this is most likely the way X-Men and the Four are coming. The trailer also says it was the original snap that opened the way here, so I wonder how many people came in during that 5 year time jump.

The multiverse simply existing doesn't mean that will be the origin of the X-Men or the FF. At this point, we just don't know how they're going to opt to introduce them. The multiverse is one of many options they can run with. I think the multiverse is being used here more in conjunction with Sony/Marvel Studios in their future dealings, since they have a deal to renew, than it is simply for X-Men or FF.
