Big no on Riddler in Gucci.
When news broke Monday morning that she had garnered yet another accolade, Durran was, in her words, “quite literally” at work in London, on the set of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Though Durran traded her (lack of) corsets for catsuits with her foray into superhero dressing, she believes she’ll be back to period pieces soon. “I like the freedom that you get with them, the freedom of interpretation,” she said. “You have less of that in modern pieces, because everyone is conscious of what modern clothes mean. With period, you’re always finding things that approximate the past, and I find it enjoyable to recreate something when it no longer exists.”

I guess this confirms the film is set in modern day and that she's the one in charge of designing Catwoman's suit instead of Glyn Dillon.
Makes me wonder why she left the batsuit up to Glyn and Crossman... my guess is that the Catwoman suit will be something very simplistic while the batsuit is probably gonna be quite complex (which makes sense being that Catwoman is just a thief while Batman is a super genius billionaire with a bunch od resources at his disposal) Probably armored or some type of specific materials that people that haven't been designing movies like these aren't familiar with. More reason to suspect a highly tactical batsuit.
She's very talented. Hopefully they can keep her around the whole trilogy

Big no on Riddler in Gucci.
Gucci I think would fit certain actors more than Dano. Dano looks like a Riddler more likely to have a hipster flavor to his design, a bit like Capullo’s design in.Big no on Riddler in Gucci.
Now she has 2 Oscars.
It will be very interesting to see what she designed for The Batman.
She did imply in another interview that this movie would have very modern clothes.I've been reviewing her filmography. She did really good work on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and had a great logic behind the different characters' suits. For instance, most of the middle aged characters wore Savile Row suits in a style that was 10-15 years old as befitted middle class civil servants and people tended to wear such garments until they wore out back then. (I'd love to see what she would do with Bond as she is an historian of Savile Row and it is about time that someone dressed him that well again.)
If Durran puts as much thought into Bruce's civilian attire this could be really good. Also, given that she often does period costumes and Reeves is looking for a noir vibe, I wonder if she will try to modernize a lot of noir tropes. I would love to finally see Gordon in a dramatic trench coat with the big popped collar a la BTAS.

Not exactly what I want but here's some fun fanart to look at:
I did suggest this little Ralph Lauren ensemble on the previous page:Give Bruce back in turtlenecks pls.
Thanks! I went looking through the winter part of the collection and a few of the looks really scream Bruce to me:
Out of these suits I would have Pattinson's Bruce wear the all black suit...black tux black dress shirt black dress pants but instead I would have him wear a black tie too or I would go black suit black turtleneck sweater black pants

Along with this one straight of BTAS:
Not more of colour. Still very classic. The traditional business colours for the suits themselves, mid greys, charcoals and navy blues. Maybe some tans and browns for more casual wear like sport coats. However, the shirts should remain light traditional business colours, such as white, light blue, or cream. That would be more fitting for Bruce's class and more flattering on Pattinson. Bruce is a white guy with dark hair, which means that he looks best in high contrast outfits (ie. dark suit, light shirt). Black on black would wash him out.So you basically want Bruce to wear custom designer suits but you want those suits to be more of color

I get where you are coming from with the black-on-black idea, but it just doesn't work on most real life human beings and would go against the style rules that someone like Bruce would have ingrained in them. You can still get that all dark, brooding look, by using a lot of dark greys and blues. I had previously suggested these particular looks to that end:Yeah of course but I would also want him to wear black on back because of the fact that it would tie into the character as far as Batman being mysterious and by him wearing black suits it just plays into that...but also wearing colorful suits too just shows a man of Bruce's wealth

Nolan and Lindy Hemming took a similar approach when dressing Bale as Bruce:
Bruce is not wearing any true black in this ensemble (the coat is charcoal grey, the sweater navy blue), but the outfit still has that monochromatic, brooding look that hints at the Batsuit and Bruce's inner darkness.
When Bruce descends into the cave and is lit cinematically, you get your black on black look, but better due to the use of subtle colour:
CORRECTION: Bale's overcoat might be navy, just a darker shade to contrast with the brighter navy sweater.
