I just checked and I do have admin privileges. So it looks like the first account added/created gets admin rights.

I wouldn't trust that health check tool for now. I ran it on my Win11 VM and it says the PC cannot run Windows 11...

Looks like MS goes by the TPM of your computer to determine if your system can run Windows 11.

TPM 1.0 is no longer listed as compatible which would mean PCs from before 2016 may no longer be compatible.

Ugh Secure Boot isn't enabled on my PC is why I can't get the update and when I try to go into the BIOS it's null (cannot be enabled or disabled) . I heard disabling Legacy boot and enabling UEFI may correct this, but I'm not sure. Worst case is I have to restore the BIOS to factory defaults to do it.

I think thats what cool for me with this is this doesn't seem such a big change. They are changing the User Interface but it won't feel like such a big transition from Windows 10. I just got a new pc less than 12 months ago. At first I was like "ugh why now". But then its a free update. I just hope my pc gets all the requirements for the Windows 11 upgrade. If not, it doesn't seem like a big loss as this appears (from.the reactions I've seen online) more of an interface change.

I have to make a Microsft account though which I have been avoiding to do and I always get a notification for that.everytime I open my pc.

Again every time I'm ready to upgrade my ****ing PC there's a shortage that jacks up the prices. I was going to do a Ryzen build over my initial Intel i5/3070 build.

Also I've given up for now on designing my own case. Funds are not accessible right now.

I looked at the HP website and TPM 1.2 is supported on your Omen Pro. Although you should be able to upgrade to Win11 since 1.2 is the minimum, the CPU is not supported. My mobo supports TPM 2.0 but my 6600K is not supported. So we're **** out of luck (for now hopefully).

As for your BIOS situation, generally UEFI mode is recommended since it introduces some security features and has better boot times especially with an SSD. Honestly, if you use Win10 or any modern Linux distro, there's no reason to use legacy mode. Also, UEFI has a sexier user interface.

Did that and no Secure Boot is not enabled. Legacy is on. I'm going to disable it in BIOS and reboot and see if it allows me to enable/disable secure boot. According to MS's app, this is the only requirement I need to get the download. But I trust you more.

I think it's because your SSD is an MBR disk instead of a GPT disk.

Open a command in admin and run: diskpart, then list disk. See if there's an asterisk under the GPT column for your SSD.

You can convert from MBR to GPT in you want:
Change a Master Boot Record (MBR) into a GUID partition table (GPT) disk

Obviously, you'll lose everything so back up your files first.

At this point, I may wait for 11 to start coming out later than do this. I'm computer savvy, but I'm not confident enough in my abilities to do it. I have a back up on a 1TB hard drive and a Windows recovery tool.

There's also third-party tools like MiniTool Partition that can easily do this within 2-3 clicks if you want something more user-friendly than a command-line interface.

I've done command line and have played with multiple Linux distros and used to use a MSDOS computer when I was a kid. But a GUI any day.

The dev build does not have the TPM requirement. I've read some users who run it on 7th and possibly 6th gen Intel.

A Raspberry Pi 4 can even run it.

Out of curiosity, I checked if my mobo had the TPM option and it does and it was a super cheap mobo which was already old when I bought it back in 2016. Gigabyte H110M-S2H.
So unless one runs an antediluvian computer, it should be of no concern.
