Most fans would argue that the Green Lantern character began to blossom when Hal Jordan was introduced, along with a decidedly more sci-fi approach. But the character existed long before that, and many of the iconic elements of the character were well established before Hal was introduced.

Ive been reading a bit of Golden Age Green Lantern and have a newfound appreciation for Alan Scott. The first Vandal Savage appearance is such a classic. I love that Vandal Savage’s hideout is in Mammoth Cave, that was actually the first place I ever went camping. I know people don’t really care for Scott as much, but I would love to see a faithful Golden Age Green Lantern story either on film or television. Ideally with Vandal Savage as the villain.

With the establishment of the multiverse, I would be very interested in exploring Earth 2, and building towards an Earth 2 Justice Society film. It will never happen though with Black Adam introducing the JSA.

I love a lot of what COIE did for DC, but consolidating the JSA and JL in one universe doesn’t work as well for me as having two Earths (one with the Justice Society and one with the Justice League). It’s a crazy idea, but the tone of The Batman made me want to see an Earth 2 with gritty Golden Age inspired versions of Superman, Flash (Jay), GL (Alan) and Wonder Woman. I have been feeling that DC should do more with their OG heroes like Jay and Alan instead of focusing so much on Barry and Hal. There’s a ton of potential there, and being first does count for something.

I have to say, his costume has really grown on me, and I love his sidekick Doiby.
