i have random songs that get stuck in my head, or i'm really vibing with at a particular time for no reason whatsoever, and they become my "song of the week". i'm sure we all have them, let's share our insanity! haha

last friday i heard a live version of Go Up to the Mountain at a Renee Elise Goldsberry concert. If i've heard it before, i cannot remember. But since i've heard it, i've had a hard time forgetting it lol.

i've since learned it was written by Patty Griffin, and its inspiration was a speech by MLK.

ive been listening to a lot of older country on Sirius lately and driving home from work i heard this song for the first time and it's stuck since. i'd been listening a lot since they were taking about Naomi Judd and her passing, stories of her career, songs, etc

so naturally, i'm going to post the cheesy 90s video of it lol
