Agreed. Was it a rushed movie like first class was? I still say Reynolds was fine in the movie but its everything around him that was the problem. Did we ever find out what Tim robbins was doing in this movie?

I think WB may take a step back and wonder if only superman and batman are the only marketable heroes they got.

It still amzaes me that they were suppose to be too seperate movies and were combined seamlessly. That movie is the textbook way to do a comicbook movie especially on a short time table. It also proved that there are more villians for the xmen to take on besides magneto.

Isnt it ironic one movie was made in under a year and trumped the one that took longer and had a bigger budget.

The editing in the second half of GL was also just horrendous. The movie felt like it was missing some pieces.

Yes. I enjoyed sections of GL (the scenes that they got right), but the editing is just all over the place. I don't know if that was the recuts done by Christopher Rouse or if part of it was Stuart Baird's fault. Baird cut Casino Royale and Superman: The Movie -- and those were wonderfully put together. GL, definitely not.

If WB still wants to get a GL sequel off the ground (which I doubt), they need to establish a good script. Then give the production plenty of time to edit and complete the CGI. I say keep the cast and scrap everyone else.

I guess my thinking as far as wondering how GL bombed the way it did comes from the way you see people talk about say Wolverine or Clash of the Titan. I mean was GL really that much worse than Wolverine or COTT? Wolverine made just over $153 million world wide and COTT made just over $273 million more world wide than GL.

And Marvelman you pointed out a few things I didn't really think of like the Hal's discconect with his family. You don't even know he has brothers untill that point. One of things that kinda shocks me is that the movie figures at Wal Mart are half off and they're still not selling.

the initial script reviews however by latino review and a slew of other websites said it was an excellent well written script... they all gave it either B+ or above and many As... so wtf happened

There was a leaked script that was very different from the movie with some similarities. That leaked script wasn't perfect, far from it but I certainly enjoyed reading it a lot more than watching the movie.

I mean really where did that go? I know there was a deleted scene where hal saves his nephew but it got cut thank god. Stuff like that just makes you think wow those actors had an easy paycheck. Did anyone proofread this script or maybe watch the dailys as they were filming and think nah thats not working. I swear they made this film up as they went along. I cant believe this director did casino royale, its not possible given that was such a well crafted film.

I noticed that too, it seems like walmart is trying there hardest to push those toys to the front in attempts kids want them. The toys look like garbage though. I noticed tranformers figures arent selling well ethier, there always stocked.
