"They have the same face! They're identical!"
"nah I don't see it"
Only Lower Decks could've brought Locarno back and I love it. Connecting Mariner to the TNG episodes "The First Duty" and "Lower Decks" could've easily felt like shallow fan service, but instead it really helps (in combination with Mariner serving during the Dominion War) provide great context for why Mariner is the way she is, particularly in the first season, not hard to see why she was so disillusioned with much of Starfleet after Nova Squadron's disaster, Sito's death, and the Dominion war. It also really helps to illustrate the journey her character has taken to see her before going through all the trauma, she was a lot like Boimler at the academy. Loved all the WoK references here and the Ferengi putting a pay wall on the bomb had me laughing.
