Another reason why it's always mind blowing when I see on various forums (including this one, especially in the past) this unwavering loyalty to law enforcement and the so called justice system. As if these agencies aren't run by very flawed or straight up f***ed up human beings.

The system could work if it was not run by this type of racist ******* and there were more reforms to actually make it a proper justice system instead of the jacked up mess we have now. But no, we have idiots like this in charge who know a man is innocent and still think he should be in jail, for reasons.

This is what happens when people get stripped of their humanity. Can anyone point to Right Wing talking points about illegal immigration into the U.S. for the last forty years and tell me with a straight face that it wasn't and isn't filled with a POV that has made poor people fleeing poverty in another country, law breaking by doing that or not, into a nightmarish subhuman group unworthy of any kind of empathy or sympathy?

Stories like this are the result. Where is any oversight of any kind? This is the 21st Century for ****s sake!

You also will not hear a single peep from any right-winger about the illegal surgeries being performed on these women, or any demands for it to stop. If anything, there might be voices to increase it.

A year ago, if you guys remember the story, actor Ron Ely's son stabbed his mother to death and was subsequently shot to death by the Santa Barbara Sheriff's department deputies when he attacked them. A sad story. Well today it got sadder and sicker. Ron and his daughters have brought suit against the Santa Barbara Sheriff's department for the wrongful deaths of his wife and son. Ely's son Cameron calls the sheriff's dept and says his mom is attacking his dad....then the phone goes dead.

Dispatchers call back the house, Ely answers the phone but can not talk due to a pre-existing medical condition (sounds like a stroke)...they hear mumbling, crying, and wailing.

Dispatchers sent deputies to the house....telling them wrongly that it was reported that Ely was attacking his wife, and that when they called back all they heard was heavy breathing.

Deputies arrive at house, find Mrs Ely on floor with multiple stab wounds...but DO NOT check her condition and do not allow fire department medical services to check her for about half hour after they show up. When they are finally allowed to check her, she is announced dead.

Deputies search for the son, after about an hour and a half. the son comes walking towards the deputies with his hands up with multiple stab wounds to lower part of body. Without warning or provocation deputies open fire on him hitting him 22 times (apparently this is from the dashcam video of one of the cruisers). The deputies do not allow the firefighter medial teams who were still there to check on his condition for 17 minutes. He died as the scene.

What a terrible situation all around.

That whole situation is messed up. More could have been done in that situation that wasn't.

So instead of putting it to good use they are giving it to cops to arrest people for protesting or doing otherwise modest crimes.
